The Senior Marketing Technologist will be responsible for enabling and enhancing enterprise capabilities involving digital marketing and campaign automation. This role will be accountable for driving technical solutions for Anthem’s Digital Marketing Operations platforms. Successful candidates will have strong business acumen, deep marketing technology domain knowledge, and proven success developing scalable digital marketing solutions that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing communications.

Key responsibilities include:

•Leads consultation efforts with marketing, business, and IT partners across the enterprise to identify optimal multi-channel communication & automation capabilities

•Provides expert guidance on the use of marketing related technologies and advises on digital trends

•Acts as the solutions lead on Anthem IT projects and issues involving Digital Marketing Operations platforms

•Directs the implementation of new marketing technology solutions involving multi-channel campaign management and automation

•Works with marketing technology vendors, IT architects, and Marketing leadership to assess and evaluate the business impact of new marketing technologies

•Directs the design and development for pilot and proof of concept marketing technology capabilities

•Supports the development of the Digital Marketing Operations backlog and 18 month roadmap

Requires a BS/BA degree, 7 years of related experience, in a combination of marketing technology, marketing operations, SaaS platform management, software development, and/or UX design. A Master’s degree, MBA, or advanced technical certifications are also preferred.

Required skills and experience:

•Deep understanding of the marketing technology landscape and ability to apply this knowledge to complex business needs

•Proven success developing complex marketing solutions involving integrations between core IT systems, Campaign Management, Marketing Automation, CRM, content management, and/or other digital marketing tools

•Familiarity with service oriented architecture including use of SOAP and REST APIs for marketing use cases

•Track record of providing cross-functional leadership for projects involving multiple 3rd party vendors, IT, and business stakeholders

•Must be able to formulate and communicate complex technical requirements to both business partners and technology vendors

Other desired skills and experience:

•Familiarity with agile principles including sprint planning and backlog grooming

•Past experience managing multiple platform roadmaps supporting both waterfall and agile based development cycles

•Able to demonstrate proficiency in developing for two or more of the following platforms/languages:

- Multi-channel campaign management (Adobe, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Eloqua, IBM/Unica)

- CRM or Sales Enablement platforms

- Java, HTML5, PHP, SQL
