The*Business Information Developer Senior or Consultant can be located at any of the following HCA office locations: Richmond or Virginia Beach, VA, Atlanta, GA, New York, NY, Wallingford, CT, Chicago, IL, Mason, OH, Minnetonka, MI, Denver, CO, Woodland Hills or Thousand Oaks, CA*and is instrumental in the development of innovative analytics platforms and solutions that enhance Anthem’s ability to detect and prevent healthcare fraud, waste and abuse (FWA) through Anomaly detection, Concept Development, and Concept Execution tools. This position also serves as a technical programming coding subject matter expert to our internal partners to identify fraud, waste, and abuse claims that do not meet explicit payment policies. The Business Information Developer Sr/Consultant may also develop and execute more complex data mining analyses and model creation. * *
* Develops and executes data mining analyses
* Uses program languages to extract data
* Develops new and standard reports utilizing data warehouse information
* Programs and writes queries and reports
* Establishes and maintains strong knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, related programming languages, and data integrity issues
* Develops and supports data warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables
* Conducts training on use of applications developed
Qualifications for Business Information Developer Sr (E12):
- BS/BA degree in related field
- 3-5 years’ healthcare data analysis or related experience
- or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data is also required
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Experience with healthcare fraud, waste and abuse analytics is a plus
- This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations and providing assistance to staff
Qualifications for Business Information Developer Consultant (E13):
- BS/BA degree in related field
- 5 years healthcare data analysis or related experience
- or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data
- Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with healthcare fraud, waste and abuse analytics is a plus
- This job is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff in lower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work is higher volume and/or higher risk, and modeling
Qualifications for all levels
- Communication skills (both verbal and written, to various audience types)
- Organizational Skills
- Diligence in the face of complicated and/or uncertain questions and issues
- Above proficient analytical skills in query design, interpretation, debug, and reparation resolution
- Familiarity with healthcare claims data
- Above proficient knowledge of FACETS and/or other claims adjudication systems
- Above proficient skills in MS Access and Excel
- Above proficient programming experience in T-SQL, Oracle, Teradata, SSIS, SAS
- Experience with Hadoop a plus
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ETL, data base design
