Puppose:The Manager Process Improvement identifies and leads large, cross-functional complex process improvement projects, and provides process guidance and support to shared service team. This role provides NiSource leadership with regular analysis and reports on the overall value of service provided by Shared Services at NiSource. Shared Services includesIT, Supply Chain, Fleet, Warehouse, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Corporate Security and Aviation.Key outcomes for success include:

Performance reports and scorecards that accurately reflect the overall quality of service, including SLAs met, customer service and other metrics deemed important by NiSource business leaders

Deliver significant operational improvements and financial benefits by independently leading and driving large, cross-functional complex Lean Six Sigma projects and/or Kaizen events

Collaborative team environment that leverages relationships throughout NiSource and builds trust and credibility

High functioning Process Measurement and Improvement team

Shared Service partners who understand and agree with the reports indicating value of service

Clearly defined, repeatable framework and methodology for process improvement and performance reporting

Ongoing continuous improvement in processes

Essential Responsibilities:Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Identify areas/potential projects where process redesign/improvement can significantly impact efficiency, quality, or profitability using Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen events

Cultivates partnerships with shared service leaders and business partners to guide the identification and prioritization of potential opportunities and problem areas where process redesign/improvement can significantly impact efficiency, quality, profitability, or customer experience

Create performance scorecards for consumption by business unit executive management.

Educates and promotes a culture of continuous improvement throughout shared services by leading the growth and application of process improvement skills and services

Quantifies and tracks progress on process improvement initiatives

Responsible for ensuring Policy, process and procedure documentation is relevant and up to date easily accessible

Report and recommend Service Level Agreement improvement opportunities

Manage benchmark analysis against peers and recommend improvement opportunities

Maintain current knowledge regarding best practices, identifying practices related to shared services

Manage measurement and reporting of meaningful customer feedback across shared services

Collaborate with process owners to ensure processes are well documented and to drive improved and sustained results.

Develop and monitor performance and improvements through the use of key metrics.

Develop action plans to address customer satisfaction issues

Champions change and makes change lasting

Participate as shared service representative in cross-disciplined teams developed to research and analyze corporate business processes

Responsible for hiring, training, evaluation and direction of performance analysts.

Create an open environment supportive of free sharing of information and ideas that is also conducive to contribution, growth and achievement.

Building strong working relationships within shared services and throughout NiSource

Continued and progressive development of team

Prepare executive level reports and findings

Ensure that management reporting information is provided in a format and method that is meaningful and easy to use

Key Work Experience/Education:Required:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent

5 years experience in process improvement, performance reporting development, change management, project management, or similar position

Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with 2+ years of direct experience as a Black Belt or related function.

Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams and allocate work appropriately

Strong written and verbal communication, mediation (conflict resolution) and facilitation skills.

Demonstrated ability to educate and coach at all levels

Strong project management skills

Proficient in Windows and MS Office software (WORD, EXCEL, VISIO, PowerPoint, ACCESS, PROJECT)
Preferred:

Supervisory experience

Lean Master Certification preferred

MBA or PMP certification

Significant NiSource business knowledge, experience, and acumen.

IT, Supply Chain, Real Estate, or Facilities experience
