The new hire wave training class to fill upcoming vacancies is projected for January 25, 2016. Responsibilities by Job Classification
Construction Coordinator
Coordinate, oversee and guide the activities associated with natural gas construction in accordance with all applicable requirements, ensuring safe, reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner.
Coordinate with customers, contractors, vendors, construction services leadership, welders, engineering, field operations and logistics centers to ensure cost- effective construction.
Advises and ensures proper methods of pipeline installations and other maintenance activities are performed by the contractor.
Actively interacts with crew leaders to ensure performance adheres to established metrics and policies/procedures, permit and right-of-way requirements.
Prepares and submits accurate daily progress reports
Coordinates capital construction and improves capital spending efficiency
Effectively uses technology, tools and planning techniques to improve process results.
Creates and maintains valued relationships with government entities, industry associates, company affiliates, and contractors.
Executes construction services strategies.
Manages efficient, safe and quality construction of new and replacement mains and services, joint sealing, cathodic protection, service tie-overs.
Communicates concerns about contractor qualifications and certifications and ensures proper documentation.
Works across geographic boundaries whenever necessary.

Construction Equipment Operator
Operates light earth-moving equipment, for example backhoe, dump truck, side boom, and tamper
Duties include operating and maintenance of said equipment
Transportation of equipment and/or materials
Assists crew with installation and repair of mains and services
Class A CDL required

Laborer
Responsible for installing and maintaining distribution natural gas service lines and mains
Replacing existing service lines and mains to present customers
Repairs leaks, completes service line orders
Maintains record of materials and supplies used on the job
Locate underground company facilities

Locator Technician
Locate underground utilities in response to PA One Call.
Must be able to read maps and interpret information.
Must be able to become OQ qualified in all duties relevant to the area of Line Locating.

Plant/Service Technician
Act as Street Service A (crew leader) over what will normally be a Plant crew engaged in leak repair, service line installation and all phases of Plant work. The Plant / Service Technician will drive an assigned truck, maintain truck inventory and handle necessary paperwork. The Plant / Service Technician will be responsible for the work while at the job site.
The Plant / Service Technician will also be responsible for all types of customer service work and other related work necessary to render gas service to customers.
The Plant / Service Technician must be available for overtime, emergency, and call-out work for both Plant and Service functions.

Service Technician
Perform meter and regulator related activities, and have knowledge of customer appliance servicing.
Responsible for company equipment and property at the job site.
Must have knowledge of Company operating procedures and related paperwork, safety procedures, and be able to use this knowledge in job performance.

Street Service
Acts as lead employee over one or more employees engaged in pinpointing leakage, making repairs, and replacing services or portions of mains.
Testing and inspecting service lines according to policy/procedures and approved codes.
Must be able to use various types of tools needed for repairs of plant facilities.
Must possess a valid PA commercial driver#39;s license (CDL) and certification to operate company trucks under DOT/ Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for intra-state drivers.
Must be able to prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.
Must have ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations concerning pipeline safety and underground construction practices preferred.

Utility Representative
Personally makes premise visit on delinquent customers to collect or disconnect gas service at meter or curb box.
Performs various customer/company work requests, including transfers, disconnects, reads/rereads meters, locates/repairs, curb boxes, removes active and inactive meters, reads meters on route.
Documents assignment results, maintains assigned vehicle, tools/equipment and materials.
Promotes excellent customer relations.

Selection Criteria
Must possess a valid drivers license and be able to operate company vehicles.
Must be capable of passing applicable physical capacity tests.
Must be detail-oriented and able to follow through on assignments with limited direction.
Requires the ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to document records and understand written and oral communications.
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge and/or experience of hand tools is required.
Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult customer situations with tact and diplomacy is required.
Prefers computer software experience.
Experience in field operations within natural gas industry or in the plumbing trade is preferred.
NOTE ABOUT ALL POSITIONS:
All positions are subject to applicable DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations.
All positions must be able to respond to emergency calls and work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime at applicable overtime rate. To serve customers needs, it may be necessary for incumbent to work a schedule or work location other than posted on a temporary basis to provide coverage during vacations.
All positions will be required to complete applicable paperwork and enter data on a computer.
All positions require working in all weather conditions
