SUMMARY:
Providing support for their internal learning web page redesign initiative.
The Web Developer professional is accountable for the website front-end development, theming, building, and extending our existing LMS templates.
Will help implementation of web page skin themes, using Javascript/frameworks/component libraries, CSS, XML, HTML.
Will help prepare & monitor user pilot test.
Main focus on landing page (login screen) & home page, but may include working on related pages and other site-wide custom features.
Will help configure login & home page versions for different users.
SKILLS:
CSS_ Expertise in responsive web design and advanced CSS3 techniques
Including: transitions, transformations, animation, advanced selectors, media queries, browser compatibility.
Proficient with a CSS Preprocessor such as Sass or LESS.
Knowledge of properties and attributes to control the display.
Specifying different CSS for various media, devices and displays
Best practices in CSS file organization and structure.
Methods for including CSS inline, internal and external via linked style sheets
HTML_ Expertise with HTML5 elements, HTML syntax for multiple specifications
Methods to ensure browser & device compatibility
Methods for degrading gracefully for older browsers and displays
Methods to ensure accessibility.
File compression techniques for improving speed.
Javascript_ Expertise with!
EXPERIENCE:
Familiar with up-to-date web development concepts.
Familiar with security, compliance, knowledge of e-Learning best practices and LMS platform.
Ability to translate assets produced by visual designer to conform to an approved custom theme/style by creating, editing or modifying templates for a CMS or web development framework.
Ability to develop for integration with third party systems in various ways - for example:
oIntegration thru API/real time HTTP/HTTPS calls.
oIntegration thru Single Sign On.
Testing crossbrowser, crossplatform, and/or crossdevice compatibility for inconsistencies.
Familiarity with debugging tools for crossbrowser issues.
Conducting user testing, and/or reviewing designs against usability heuristics.
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively (oral and written) with core project team (PS, DB, BS, NH, + limited vendor support from Net D), other IT professionals, and business stakeholders
Ability to collaborate with an agile development team to prioritize and execute toward aggressive deadlines and delivery dates.
