Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Installs, maintains, repairs, replaces, troubleshoots, documents, and tests all life safety and security electronic equipment or related systems. Maintains all testing and inspecting in accordance with Federal, State, Local and County codes. All testing and documentation has a direct impact with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Joint Commission, and NFPA. Maintains safe efficient operation of the hospitals life safety and security electronic systems, equipment and devices. Performs other required work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Four (4) years working in an electrical related field.

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:

* Ability to read and write the English language.
* Ability to calculate mathematical circuit loads.
* Knowledge of programmable systems.
* Knowledge of both class “A” and “B” low voltage circuit relay logic.
* Knowledge of installation and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
* Skilled in safe maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of life safety and security critical electronic systems.
* Skilled at reading and understanding electrical schematics and blueprints.
* Skilled at programming, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining building security and camera systems.
* Skilled at reading blue prints and system schematics.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

A valid Drivers License is required. Must posses a valid Minnesota State Board of Electricity “Power Limited Tech” license within 6 months of employment.
