Job Description::

Regions Hospital Burn Program is nationally renowned. We have over 50 years of burn care experience in all types of burns, skin disorders, and complex soft tissue injuries. In addition to expert inpatient care of pediatric and adult patients, our outpatient program is also exceptional. We have a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to burn care. We have dedicated burn occupational therapists right in the burn center. We are the only program in our region to have a full time dedicated burn psychotherapist. We host monthly support groups, survivor events, and annual child and family camps for our patients and their families. We have a robust SOAR program which allows former burn patients to meet with current burn patients and offer support. This role works in collaboration with physicians and other medical staff to provide services to patients and their families within the Burn center and will participate in inpatient care as well as burn clinic. This role will care for both adult and pediatric patients. They are engaged in independent decision-making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals and their families. Performs a comprehensive history, including chart review and information gathered from the family and performs physical and psychological health assessments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Masters in Nursing or Graduate of an accredited formal physicians assistant training program

Experience:

Minimum experience 1 years as a certified NP or PA in a clinical setting. Experience with burn, wound, or conscious sedation.preferred.

CNPs and CNSs beginning practice after July 1, 2014, must practice for at least 2,080 hours within the context of a collaborative management setting in a hospital or integrated clinical setting where APRNs and physicians work together.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Critical thinking skills, collaboration, assessment, synthesizing information into a valid treatment plan. Familiar with caring for all age groups; infant to geriatric.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Nurse Practitioner:

* Current Minnesota RN license. NP certification in relevant specialty through the ANCC.
* Approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges.
* Currently licensed as an APRN in the state of MN
* Must have current APRN Specialty Certification (i.e., ANCC, Nurse Anesthetist)

Physician Assistant:

* Current National Council Certified Physician Assistant certification
* Current Minnesota Physician Assistant license
* Approved by Minnesota Board of Medical Practice for prescription writing privileges

Must Possesses active DEA Number
