As a (VB.Net/C#) Software Engineer on the CADENCE Platform at ProfitStars®, a Jack Henry Company, you’ll be provided a great opportunity to showcase your skills and problem solving talent through creative design and coding of the next generation products for commercial portfolio management and small business lending. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual, who loves challenges and wants more out of a career than just a watch.This position is going to be hired and filled out of one of the following Jack Henry locations:Brentwood, TN / Birmingham, AL / Hoover, AL / Allen, TX / Houston, TX, / Austin, TX/ Mendota Heights, MN / Valdosta, GA / Charlotte, NC and or Northville, MI. Travel is up to 5% to attend a potential training, meeting and or conference.
The CADENCE Platform sits on top of Microsoft SQL Server and consists of a hybrid of Microsoft technologies and suite of custom components; ranging from Component Object Model (COM-VB6), Windows Forms (.Net) and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Your work will consist of coding VB.Net with some C#.Net while providing opportunities to design and develop new components and re-engineer legacy modules into next generation technology. If user interfaces are not your thing, the CADENCE platform has an arsenal of interfaces (100+) and class libraries running under custom built windows services; leveraging the latest true multithreaded architecture and Microsoft Messaging Queue (MSMQ) these services can infinitely scale vertically and horizontally.
This area of the CADENCE platform is dynamically growing with requests to interface with the 100+ products within ProfitStars®, the Jack Henry Core Banking software products and becoming a Provider of the CADENCE Collateral data on the jXchange®, a service-oriented solution that will help broaden the appeal of the CADENCE product. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematic is required.
Must have a minimum 6 months education and or work experience with Microsoft VB.Net or C#.Net (WinForm or Application Interfaces) experience.
Must have excellent time management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Microsoft VB6 experience is preferred.
Experience with Transact-SQL (T-SQL) is preferred.
Experience with DevExpress WinForm controls is preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively is preferred.
Ability to reverse engineer existing code libraries is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.
Performs system analysis and programming activities which require research.
Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.
Provides reasonable task and project cost/effort estimates.
Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production.
Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
Creates required technical documentation.
Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. May participate in the definition and documentation of standards.
Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
Assists in training and mentoring less experienced peers.
