SUMMARY
ProfitStars, a division creating complimentary applications in the banking industry, is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our fast-paced, leading edge, client server / cloud based product(s). This position is open to being filled in Omaha, NE. Our team includes 3 Developers, 1 QA, and 1 Dev Ops that are distributed across various Jack Henry locations.
Software Engineer will be working on new features and bugs that are in a mature code base. One of those features is a new UI layer, and performance tuning of the 3-tier client server application. The business domain for the products includes the following business domains: Profitability, ALM, and Budgeting. This exciting opportunity will provide you the ability to use C#, WPF, Silverlight, Win Forms, SQL Server; to create elegant solutions that perform and scale at the highest level. This position will have input into the architecture of the application. Development is on all layers of technology stack. Travel is up to 5% for potential conferences / meetings.
The Software Engineer participates in the technical design and implementation of new products or enhancements. Participates in all phases of the development cycle: concept, technical design, prototype, code development, testing, release to QA and implementation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in software development in C#.Net.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience with WPF, WCF, Silverlight, Win Forms and SQL Server is preferred.
Comfortable working in an Agile Bull Pen environment is preferred.
Comfortable working in a distributed environment is preferred.
Experience with 3 tier development is a plus.
Experience with unit testing frameworks such as NUnit or Protractor is preferred.
Experience with troubleshooting performance issues on the server and client side is preferred.
Experience with developing Single Page Applications is preferred.
Knowledge of up to date software build and release processes, such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery is preferred.
Knowledge of test driven development strategies and tools is preferred.
Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), TFS Build server, and MSBuild is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS Platform as a Service model is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide input on product architecture on a regular basis.
Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.
Performs system analysis and programming activities which require research.
Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.
Provides reasonable task and project cost/effort estimates.
Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production.
Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
Creates required technical documentation.
Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. May participate in the definition and documentation of standards.
Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
Assists in training and mentoring less experienced peers.
