SUMMARY

The Regulatory Filing Group at ProfitStars®, a Jack Henry Company, is looking for a Software Engineer to help take its software to the next level. This position is open to being filled in Austin, TX. Minimal travel is required with up to 5% for conferences and meetings.

With over 30 years of experience, our group specializes in regulatory filing solutions for the banking and credit union industries, in order to keep them compliant with constant regulatory changes. We are looking for a self-motivated, professional, and energetic individual, who loves challenges and has a passion for creating quality software in a competitive market. Our products are updated quarterly, creating a fast paced environment on a cyclical basis, with sufficient downtime to allow for a good work/life balance.

The Software engineer will work with others on the team to conceptualize and implement new products, as needed, or enhancements to our existing product line. They will participate in all phases of the quarterly development cycle, including: concept, technical design, prototype, code development, testing, release to QA, and implementation. The right candidate must be able to multi-task and remain organized in the midst of multiple ongoing projects. Also, they must be flexible as priorities shift internally during development cycles. Additionally, they should be interested in learning and staying up to date with new technologies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 8 years of software development experience.

Must have 5 years experience in WinForm software development with C# .NET

Must have 5 years experience with Web development using .ASP NET C#

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with each of the following: JavaScript, JQuery, CSS and HTML.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience with Delphi is preferred.

Experience with Angular JS, or similar platform is preferred.

Experience with Node.js is preferred.

Experience with SQL is preferred.

Experience with Web services is preferred.

Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) is preferred.

Experience with banking or other financial applications is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Complete object oriented software design, development, unit testing, bug verification and resolution.

Familiar with Agile development processes, including test driven development.

Performs system analysis and programming activities which require research.

Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.

Provides reasonable task and project cost/effort estimates.

Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production meeting hard deadlines.

Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.

Creates required technical documentation and specifications that address requirements.

Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards.  May participate in the definition and documentation of standards.

Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

Collaboratively works with customer support team and/or directly with clients to resolve or diagnose defects.

Assists in training and mentoring less experienced peers.
