Before going further, let us know what is GPAT.
What is GPAT:
Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is an entrance exam conducted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) for admissions to M. Pharm. courses in Indian institute/colleges and also to award fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy graduates.
This is the 5th time GPAT is being conducted. Prior to GPAT (which was launched for the first time in 2010), GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) scores were used for admissions for M. Pharm. courses.
GPAT is a computer based online test, which consists of a single paper, which has to be answered in 3 hours. It has total 125 questions, each weighing 4 marks - thus the total mark in GPAT is 500. YOu can find more info on GPAT exam pattern and prep materials in my subsequent blog article titled GPAT Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Papers & Books.
GPAT score is valid only for one year for obtaining scholarship in M. Pharmacy course. But after completing M. Pharm if you are interested in getting registered for Ph.D. programs, then GPAT score is valid beyond one year and you need not appear in Ph.D. entrance exam conducted by Indian universities.
