This blog article is being written to provide you the prep/study materials for LIC AAO Exam 2015, scheduled to be held on 20th February 2015. The article at first discusses about the LIC AAO Exam Pattern and than points you to the Sample Papers & Prep Books that you can use to prepare for the online Exam.

Selection process:
Selection Procedure for LIC Assistant Administrative Officers consists of a written online exam followed by interview. In the LIC exam selection process, three times the vacancies against each position are likely to be called for the interview. So, the number of persons likely to be called for LIC interview is approx. 600.
Subsequent to interview, all the selected candidates have to undergo pre-recruitment medical examination. What are the likely tests conducted in pre-recruitment medical examination? You can get some idea in my this previous blog post.
LIC AAO 2015 Exam format/pattern:
This exam is being held for two categories of AAO posts: AAO (Generalist) & AAO (Chartered Accountant).
For the Generalists, LIC AAO Online exam consists of a single paper of 300 marks, which has 160 questions to be answered in two-hours. The five test sections are: Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude,
General Knowledge/Current Affairs & English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension). You can find the exam pattern for the AAO (Generalist) in the table at right.
This exam format is very similar to that of AAO (Chartered Accountant) - the only difference being: instead of General Knowledge section, Professional Knowledge section is held for the Chartered Accountants.
You can find test section-wise number of questions and marks of LIC AAO online test in the table at left. As you can see, English Language test is of qualifying nature only and the marks scored in this section is not counted for the merit list.
There is negative marking in LIC AAO Online Exam - 1/4th of the mark for each wrong answer.
LIC AAO 2015 Exam Syllabus:
No official exam syllabus has been prescribed for LIC AAO exam - so do not trust any website offering you the syllabus for this exam. But since the eligibility requirement for LIC Assistant Administrative Officers is same as that for a bank PO job (i.e. graduation in any discipline), I expect the standard of LIC AAO questions to be similar to a Bank PO exam. Moreover format/pattern of Bank PO exams has same test sections as given above.
LIC AAO exam sample online papers:
First thing that you would like to know while preparing for a LIC AAO exam is where to find those online sample papers. I did some scouting for you on the net and could find following sample/previous years paper of LIC AAO exam:

Take these sample papers only for an exposure to what questions are set in LIC written exam. Rely more on books for your preparation.

LIC AAO interview questions and preparation materials:
For those of you who qualify the written exam of LIC AAO (Generalist) exam, you would have to appear the LIC interview. Aspirants for the post of AAO (Chartered Accountant) & AAO (Actuarially Qualified) on the other hand do not have to appear in the written exam and would be called for interview directly. This section tells you how to prepare for LIC AAO interview.
