A small primer on ICICI: What is it?

ICICI (Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India) Bank is India's second-largest bank with a country-wide network of 2,544 branches and 7,037 ATMs in India. It also has presence in 18 countries abroad. Its total asset amounts to Rs. 4,062.34 billion (US$ 91 billion) as on March 31, 2011 and has a profit after tax Rs. 51.51 billion (US$ 1,155 million) for the year ended March 31, 2011.

What is ICICI Probationary Officers (PO) Programme?

The PO program by ICICI is unique and different from PO programs of other banks in the sense that it enables you to earn a PG Diploma in banking in the 1-year training period at the end of which you are recruited as an Assistant Manager in ICICI. While working as an Assistant Manager, you have an option to continue study for the next 18 months to earn a much coveted MBA (Banking & Finance) from Manipal University, which is a UGC approved programme.

The 1-year residential training program in ICICI i.e. PG Diploma in banking covers following courses:

Corporate Banking

Private Banking

Risk and Credit Management

Treasury

Branch Management

Relationship Management

On successful completion of the year-long training program, the students are awarded a Diploma in Banking & Insurance and absorbed as an Asst. manager at ICICI Bank at a gross salary of more than 4.0 lakhs per annum.

Is this PO program free? No! You will have to pay for it, although ICICI will help you with soft loan meant for students. Read about it in the notification given above.

Imporant dates for ICICI PO exam Nov 2012 & Feb 2013 Batch:

Last date of application: 15th July, 2012

Written Aptitude Test: July 2012.

Group Discussions/Interview: August/September 2012.

Post-selection Training Program starts:1st week of November, 2012 (for Nov 2012 batch) and 1st week of February, 2013 (for Feb 2013 batch).

Eligibility for ICICI PO Exam:

• Graduates with 55% in any discipline

• Maximum 25 years of age as on 31st October, 2012 (DOB on or after 1st November, 1987)

ICICI PO Recruitment 2012-2013 Online Application Form:

You can apply only on-line for ICICI PO program. There is no offline application form for ICICI PO Exam.

What is the selection procedure for ICICI Probationary Officers exam:

ICICI conducts a 3-tier selection process:

1.0 Online Aptitude Test.

2.0 Group Discussion.

3.0 Interview.

On top of above, for the successful students, it also conducts Psychometric Profiling.
