Job Summary

To support the project in the areas of budget formulation, financial planning, accounting/budget execution, and management advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Records expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the books of accounts.

Prepares payment vouchers and correspoonding checks.

Prepares payroll and other regular payments with due consideration to deductions (for advances, loans, taxes, etc).

Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.

Checks petty cash payments and periodically reconciles petty cash balances.

Keeps a register of fixed assets and maintains an easy cross reference system of all government property.

Ensures that the books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and readily available for reference and audit, when required.

Prepares the monthly ROV in accordance with Abt Associates procedures and policies.

Prepares monthly cash requests, and promptly advises action required to cover estimated costs.

Liaise with Abt Associates International Accounting Department on all aspects of financial procedures and any issues that may arise.

Ensures that government taxes are paid on time.

Ensures that periodic inventory of the fixed assets (property) of the company is conducted.

Assists the Finance &Administration Manager in the implementation of the internal control system and financial procedures manual of the company

Skills Prerequisites

Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, or other relevant field.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in program accounting and bookkeeping.

Experience at a development program working for an international donor organization is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

(2+) years of experience and bachelor degree OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Malaria Consortium (MC) works to improve lives in Africa and Asia through sustainable, evidence-based programmes that combat targeted diseases and promote child and maternal health.

Malaria Consortium works with partners, including all levels of Government to improve the lives of all, especially the poorest and marginalised in Africa and Asia. MC targets key health burdens, including malaria, pneumonia and other neglected tropical diseases, along with other factors that impact child and maternal health.

Malaria Consortium has been in operations in Nigeria since 2008 to fully establish its long term commitment. It now seeks to recruit a Marketing Technical Officer for its recently awarded UNITAIO project to create a private sector market for WHO approved Malaria ROTs.

Malaria Consortium is recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Marketing Technical Officer

Location: Cross River

Job Detail

The Technical officer will be located in Cross River State. The Job holder will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all project activities in the state. Some of which include; sensitizing private sector consumers and manufacturers to increase the use of the WHO approved malaria RDT's.

Other key responsibilities include:

Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the malaria RDT brand targeting majorly providers and consumers;

Work closely with the Country Office Communications Manager to develop and implement IEC materials and BCC campaign;

Coordinate market research analysis to identify importers, distributors and health care workers to support a seamless supply chain distribution as well as track market price for RDT's periodically;

Participate in regular meetings with major stakeholders to gather data for proper analysis on campaign progress, product acceptance and adherence as well as overtreatment with ACTs;

Prepare periodic reports on progress of implementation of work-plans amongst team members as well as document key findings and lessons learnt for dissemination to stakeholders for possible publication.

Qualification

Interested candidates must have a minimum degree in Marketing, Market research or other related fields.

A Masters' degree in Business Administration will be an added advantage.

S/he must have at least 3-5years' experience in managing large scale marketing programmes as well as a good knowledge of the operations of the Nigerian private health sector and Ministry of Health.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office packages especially MS Excel and other relevant database tools.

The appointment term will be for a renewable period of up to 24 months, with an initial 6 months probationary period.
