The missions of the International Institute for Monitoring and Management of Environment and Resources (IIMMER) are:
Raising awareness of the environment and resources crises among government and the people of all countries; striving for the implementation of eco-friendly industry with new ideas,the establishment of a recycling economy; promoting the rapid development of the industry of global environment protection and comprehensive use of resources;
Propelling the sound development of international economic order;finally establishing a new international order for recycling featured with harmony, win-win interaction, and sustainable development.
The tasks and purpose of IIMMER are:
Based on the current international standards systems, as well as the realities of environment protection and the use of resources in various countries, establishing a system of the management and certification of international environment and resources with the orientation of promoting global environment protection and comprehensive use of resources. The standards established should be gradually introduced to various countries / regions and adopted as the norm in the field of environment protection and comprehensive use of resources so that the aim of optimizing global resources development and utilization could be realized.
The working functions of IIMMER are listed below:
● Establishing certification standards for international environment and resources; Propagating certifying procedures worldwide; setting up the normative order and enhancing the capability of sustainable development in the field of environment protection and comprehensive use of resources among various countries and regions
● Establishing the World Environment and Resources Prize, through an awards procedure, encouraging the participation of various countries in the field of environment protection and comprehensive use of resources
● Establishing and managing Global Environment and Resources Fund, coordinating international financial organizations, investment institutions, and non-profit funds; offering financial service to developing countries and financial support to innovative technology and projects
● Preparing annual development reports on the environment and resources, running global environment and resources website and magazine; organizing annual global environment and resources summit forums and developing strategies against global environment and resources crises
● Taking advantage of the rich cooperation resources possessed by UNIDO and IIMMER, establishing a database of environment protection and comprehensive use of resources to offer an efficient and accurate E-Business platform, so that the international transfer of technology and investment cooperation is facilitated
