This new unlimited data plan is going to be called Verizon Unlimited.
Verizon just surprised everybody with the announcement they made this weekend. The company announced that they are going to bring back their unlimited data plan. Verizon mentioned that they are going to start offering these plans Monday.
This new unlimited data plan is going to be called Verizon Unlimited. The prices of the plan for an individual line start off at $80. Another option cost $45 for every line on a four-line family plan. Despite the fact that this unlimited data plans might seem expensive, this is just the introductory cost. This means that the options might have additional costs.
The company mentioned that these data plans are going to include full LTE speeds. Although they are unlimited, customers can use them until they reach 22GB. After they have reached this limit the users will have reduced data speeds.
Hotspot tethering is also included but only up to 10GB at LTE speeds. Other options include texts and calls to Canada and Mexico. The unlimited data plan also includes 500MB every day roaming in Mexico and Canada. In order to have 500MB LTE TravelPass in other countries, you will have to pay $10.
Verizon also announced that they are keeping their “limited” data plans. They will offer 5GB M, S, and L options for those users who don’t need to use a lot of data every month. Verizon is launching this unlimited data plan showing that their data plans have better options than other companies. This is because the Verizon plan also allows users to watch HD videos.
The unlimited data plan that was announced by Verizon was a surprise because more and more US carriers quit their unlimited plans due to the massive popularity of smartphones. Now they are coming back with unlimited plans but not as good as they were before, or at least not as cheap.
T-Mobile was the one that led the way but they also reduced the video quality so that users will need to enable HD day pass in order to watch HD videos. We will just have to wait and see what other US carriers are going to do with their unlimited data plans.
