There may not be a lot of fresh fashion in the stores during the month of January, but there are some great sales.

One. I've mentioned my love for Ciao Bella boots numerous times, but they really are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned.  And they also last, I wore the same pair two or three times per week for four years before they stopped looking fresh.  In addition to the style above, Bluefly also has a riding boot with buckle detail for $90.

Two. A number of readers have commented that they love these Cole Haan Air Talia pumps for their comfort (they're constructed with Nike Air technology) and simple styling.  For whatever reason, they always make my feet fall asleep, but I think my experience is an aberration since so many people love them.

Three. Many women are scared to wear booties because many styles cut you off at the ankle and make your legs look shorter.  This pair offers a split down the front that shows almost as much skin as a traditional pump.  I also love the bow because it adds a little something without being too frilly.  They also come in black leather with a velvet bow.

Four.  I love red patent leather flats.  They add a pop of color to an outfit and really brighten up a basic suit or pair of trousers.  If you prefer a round toe, I also love these Callie flats from Sole Society for $50.

Five. These shoes are the perfect mix of flirty color and professional style.  I would pair them with simple dresses and skirts in neutrals and jewel tones.  Want a cheaper alternative?  Try these purple suede pumps for $66.

Six. These leopard loafers would add a bit of zest to jeans or casual trousers.  But if loafers aren't your thing, these patent leopard, pointed-toe flats from Victoria's Secret would be a great option.  They also come in lace, snakeskin and solid colors if patterned footwear isn't for you.

Seven. It can be difficult to find a great chocolate brown pump, but this Ralph Lauren heel fits the bill.  Plus, they're on sale.  What more could a girl want?

Eight. A pair of high heel tall boots are a great addition to a professional wardrobe.  I wear mine regularly.  These Aldo boots are a great price, so if you're looking for a pair to bring into the rotation these may be the ones.  And if you need an extended calf pair, I know a number of women who swear by these boots from Fitzwell.  And they also make a narrow calf version.

Nine. Some women look cute in Western-style ankle boots.  I saw a woman on the Metro last week who paired them with skinny jeans and an olive green jacket and she looked adorable.  If you'd like a tall Western boot, these Frye cowboy boots are a great choice.

Ten. It hasn't hit yet, but soon enough, it'll be wet and rainy here in the District.  You'll need a good pair of Wellies to keep your trousers out of the muck and your legs warm.  These periwinkle boots are a good choice, but I really love these fire engine red Hunter boots.
