After the crazy year that was 2016, the holidays have hit like a giant anvil reminiscent of old Nineties cartoons, specifically Road Runner. That's not to say it isn't still 'the most wonderful time of the year'.
Despite Cape roads being packed to capacity with out-of-towners, shopping malls filled with holiday makers still desperately trying to find that one last gift and all the beaches – from the Atlantic to the Indian coastlines – dotted with umbrellas, towels and human limbs, Cape Town is a special place to be at this time of the year.
Sure, it's hot as hell, but where else can you take a morning dip in the ocean, have brunch with one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World as a backdrop then enjoy a tipple and a luncheon of culinary delights in a completely different setting all within one to two hours' drive from each other? Not to mention the merriment that plays out on our city streets over New Year's? Now who can say 'no' to that? Not us!
That's why, although we may not be posting as regularly as we usually do (after all, we'll be covering all the aforementioned merriment for your enjoyment), you can still expect some updates from the frontlines of the Cape entertainment scene on our social media channels.
