Taiwan-based TV makers expect to see LCD TV shipments reach 19.68 million units in the second half of 2013, up 25.5% over the first half of the year, according to Digitimes Research.

The makers also expect that shipments of the technology to reach 35.36 million units in 2013, down 5.7% on year.

Despite the overall global decrease in 2013, the makers expect to see 50-inch and above size products make up 13% of their shipments during the fourth quarter, while the shipment proportion of 42-inch and below sizes is expected to drop.

TPV, Foxconn Electronics and Amtran are expected to be the top LCD TV makers in terms of total shipments throughout 2013, noted Digitimes Research.

Digitimes Research also said that the OEM LCD TV market in 2013 is expected to reach 48.22 million units, which is about 23% of the 202 million LCD TVs expected to ship during the year.
