An old friend of mine recently became a firefighter. I was out with my family when I spotted him holding a sign trying to raise money in the fight against MS in front of a local fire station. He told me about the grueling training he endured to prepare him for his work as an emergency responder. "Now you’re fit enough to be in the firefighter’s calendar," I kidded him. He laughed and said that that is what his drill master said after they completed their training. This got me to thinking that, if the Timberwolves ever wanted to raise money for a good cause, what would the months look like and what players would grace the calendar?

Personally, I would go with a theme, so the twelve months would roughly mirror the 23 seasons of the franchise. I am sure Wally World would be all over this and try to argue for multiple months or maybe even an entire calendar devoted to himself. Only the first month is exempt from the franchise history theme, in order to get fans excited for the upcoming season.

NOVEMBER 2012 - Derrick Williams - Either uncaging himself or choking a walker.

DECEMBER 2012 - Not a beefcake shot, but with this helmet afro of white hair, Jimmy Rodgers is the closest likeness to Santa Claus the Timberwolves had in the early years.

JANUARY 2013 - You would have to manipulate the photo to include the original uniforms. Chuck Person goes here because I appreciate the picture and I could not find any Christian Laettner shots, while sporting the headband, that were quite awesome enough.

FEBRUARY 2013 - J.R. Rider, to celebrate the month of the always scintillating All-Star weekend, we celebrate J.R. Rider's greatest glory as a Wolf, winning the 1994 Slam Dunk competition, sandwiched by Harold Miner's wins in '93 and '95 and staving off stiff competition from James "Hollywood" Robinson and Antonio Davis.

MARCH 2013 - I considered waiting, but there are still a lot of years to cover, so this cute little photo of the players responsible for first putting the Timberwolves on the map. Plus, Gugliotta's fearsome barbwire tattoo is partially exposed.

APRIL 2013 -Stojko Vrankovic. 52 turnovers to 78 field goals in his one season. One of my favorite all-time players. Hopefully this is one of his 78 field goal makes on the season.

MAY 2013 - Not a lot needs to be said. Wally didn't need a lot of coaxing to take his shirt off, or to take dribble drives to the basket that included completely stopping to complete an around the back dribble. Another personal favorite of mine for the way he dove at players to get handshakes after free throws and the disdain they had for him seemed palpable even on grainy TV.

JUNE 2013 - June is dedicated to one of the catalysts of that one sweet run in honor of the month of the NBA Finals.

JULY 2013 - A month dedicated to the darkness after Sam and Spree moved on.

AUGUST 2013 - Kevin Love dedicated to begin the second wave of success. Also, tLove's face looks like it is the result of touching the ball for the first time in seven possessions, because Jonny was heatchecking and running the triangle simultaneously.

SEPTEMBER 2013 - Messrs. Intensity

OCTOBER 2013 - (all credit for the inspiration goes to E-6, the rough nature of the picture is mine entirely)
