After remaining dormant for almost 2 years, the ghost of Taj brawl has once again unleashed itself and has returned to haunt Chote Nawab Saif Ali Khan.
According to recent reports pertaining to the assault case, where Saif allegedly punched NRI businessman Iqbal Sharma in 2012 after the latter asked him and his group to talk softer, the actor has been booked under Section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC. Trial against Saif who pleaded not guilty today in front of honourable court will begin on April 30.
When the incident took place in February 2012 at Wasabi Mumbai, Saif was accompanied by his then girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and their friends Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, her husband Shakeel Ladak and producer-actor Bilal Amrohi. Later on Saif also apologised over the entire issue and stated that whatever he did was in self-defence.
While defending Saif, his lawyer Mohan Jaykar put forth the plea that, it was Iqbal Sharma’s use of filthy language and abusing the women accompanying Saif, which compelled the actor to lose his temper.
