Today is a pretty cool day to be reading the Canadian Gift Guide. Why you ask? Well because I’m here to tell you how you can score 1 of 2,000 FREE luxury-sized sample from one of my very most beloved brands, philosophy! How you ask? Between today and December 8th, visit www.philosophy-wishes.com and send a sweet wish to your friends and family. As you send out your wishes, watch as the philosophy holiday tree lights up to represent all the sweetness being shared around the world. And if you are one of the first 2,000 sweethearts to send out a greeting, come December 9th, you’ll score a coupon for yourself to visit a Hudson’s Bay near you to pick up a 30 mL bottle of the brand’s signature Purity Made Simple skin cleanser. Neat? Neat. Also neat? These swell gift ideas from this perennially popular gift source.

The Gingerbread House – $42 @ Sephora
In a word: want. While philosophy has regularly packaged up four of their classic 3-in-1 shampoo / bubble bath / body wash products alongside their lip glosses, this particular set has a unique twist: the glosses aren’t direct matches to the bath stuff. Meaning you actually get 8 seasonal scents to inhale day in and day out, to keep that festive feeling going. From sugary Peppermint Stick to yummy Golden Butter Candy to Spiced Gingerbread Cookie, there’s something for everyone. Gift it to one VERY lucky person, or split it amongst your gal pals.

The Cookie Exchange – $33 at Hudson’s Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart and Sephora
This one I love because it really plays on philosophy’s unique packaging. Nearly every one of their products (save for the teeny tiny ones) inspired by an edible scent actually features an easy peasy recipe for you to recreate that same aroma in your kitchen. This particular three-piece set comes in a reusable tin that’s perfect for stocking with cookies based on the Christmas Cookie + Sweet Creamy Frosting + Sugar Sprinkles combination. Plus, the price point makes it an ace choice for your girl friends (especially if they bake).

Jolly Jelly Candy Set – $35 @ Sephora
Some people, I get it, don’t want to walk around smelling like a baked good or you know, Christmas, all day. In which case, I present you with this citrus-scented gift set, featuring two body scrubs and 3-in-1′s in uplifting Sweet Orange and Pink Grapefruit. To me, Christmas is the perfect time to gift something so bright and zesty – when you slough off rough winter skin with something so tropical, it’s easy to let your mind escape to somewhere warmer and decidedly less frosty than our Canadian clime during this time of year. Bonus points for the fact your hubby can sneak a squirt or two – few guys can resist a heavenly citrus splash in the mornings. Cherry Pinwheel Cookie / Granny’s Homemade Apple Pie / Homemade Pumpkin Pie Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Paths – $21 each @ Hudson’s Bay (Shoppers Drug Mart also carries Cherry Pinwheel Cookie)
The theme of this year’s philosophy holiday collection was the idea of being home for the holidays and making sweet memories – of the edible and non-edible variety I assume. As a result, their three latest and greatest (and exclusive to Hudson’s Bay for the most part) fragrances all channel old fashioned home baked treats like Cherry Pinwheel Cookies, Granny’s Apple Pie and Homemade Pumpkin Pie. If you’re buying for someone that’s never experienced philosophy, these multi-tasking bath potions are a great place to start. Conversely, I know many a gal collects these things, so save her a few bucks and treat her to one yourself. Sweets for the Stocking Set – $26 @ Sephora
Another new scent from the philosophy ‘kitchens’ this year is Pink Almond Candy, which is already earning rave reviews from the commenters on the Sephora website (and fervent demands for a full-size version). If you’re looking to indulge your sweet tooth while showering however, this will have to do in the meantime: these three pint-size products include a body polishing scrub, 3-in-1, and body souffle so you can buff up and smell amazing all day long. Although the box itself might be a touch big for an actual stocking, if you can bear to pop these presents out of the included gift packaging they’ll easily slip in.

So…I really could go on. And on. And on. philosophy outdoes themselves every year and this one is no exception – especially with their fun freebie offer I mentioned at the top of this post! The exciting news is, one of you lovely readers is going to grab a philosophy prize package including all of the amazing goodies you see up above (all of which are available at Hudson’s Bay, if you aren’t the winner).
