Prince Harry and Prince William have reportedly headed home to England after a weekend of celebrations in Memphis. The royal brothers were in Tennessee for the marriage of their good friend, Guy Pelly, and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Wilson.

But accounts of the wedding reception, held at the swanky Memphis Hunt and Polo Club, have started to surface — and it seems the siblings had a good time.

“The whole thing was unreal man. William came up on stage in his coat, and me and him were going back and forth doing ‘Shout’ and then he did it on his own. I was getting down, he was getting down, it was wild man. He was great, he just got the music,” Jimmy Church, whose band played the wedding, told the Daily Telegraph.

And not to be outdone, Prince Harry seems to have done his part to keep the reception lively, too.

“While earlier in the day he had appeared subdued — though the yawns may have been a legacy of the three-day pre-wedding party — come the evening reception, surrounded by glamorous and beautiful women, his mood quickly picked up,” the Daily Mail reported. “The prince, who was spotted ‘twerking’ on the dance floor, was having such a good time at the ‘unbelievably wild’ party that he made the band play five encores as he kept the party going beyond the 1 a.m. finish time.”

Church told the Telegraph the reception was a sight to behold.

“They were holding people up in the air and passing them around like they were flying. I’ve been doing this 50 years and I ain’t ever seen anything like this. These guys know how to party,” he said in the interview with the Telegraph. “Harry was dancing and having fun, dancing with lots of people. There were lots of girls around him but I didn’t see that he was with anyone. He was actually a little more conservative than William.”

The reception was the society event of the year in Memphis, with crowds lining up outside the venue hoping to catch a glimpse of the princes. But no images of the royal shenanigans inside have come to light just yet. People magazine, quoting anonymous sources, says guests were asked to refrain from bringing their cellphones into the reception area.

“The wedding cake was six tiers high spice cake topped with two white birds, whose edible feathers decorated the layers, and the grooms cake was made out to be the bust of a fox wearing a red riding coat,” People reported one wedding worker told them. “Another source adds that guests dined on risotto, meat from carving stations and plenty of seafood, including fried oysters, catfish and shrimp. Along with the cake, attendees were treated to a dessert of chocolate cups filled with homemade ice cream.”

There’s no word on how the bride and groom felt about the royal antics, but if the bride had expected all eyes to be on her, she was likely disappointed since several accounts suggest most of them were on Harry. The younger prince has become one of the world’s most eligibile bachelors since breaking up with his long-time girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, just before the trip to the U.S.

“Having Harry and William (and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well) at your wedding is, naturally, inviting the risk of being upstaged on your big day,” noted Vanity Fair. “And, based on the reports out of this wedding, it sounds like the bride could have spontaneously transformed into a flamingo while walking down the aisle, and it still would not have been what people were talking about at the reception afterward.”

The princes made the most of their time in Memphis, heading out for a southern barbecue dinner on Thursday night and touring Graceland, former home of Elvis Presley, on Friday.
