Most heartbroken Bachelorette ever? At last, we’ll soon find out what’s in store for Desiree Hartsock, the 27-year-old bridal stylist from Northglenn, Colo., who took a chance at finding love on ABC’s The Bachelorette (which was, of course, her first mistake).

Whatever the turnout, it doesn’t look like it’s a happily ever after, judging by the trailers producers of the melodramatic reality TV series have been taunting fans with over the past few weeks.

After bachelors Brooks Forester, Chris Siegfried, Drew Kenney and Zak Waddell (the nude charmer who was, unfortunately, sent packing) brought Des home to visit their families two weeks ago, Des revealed to host Chris Harrison that she was in love with Brooks and the others guys might as well just get lost (well, not in those exact words). Cut to the trailer previewing Monday’s episode, where a near-hysterical Des is sobbing incessantly through shots of her man Brooks looking like he just accidentally shot a puppy.

Monday’s plot is expected to take a rocky twist.

Oh, the drama.

Brooks and his hockey hair are all of 28 years old (fellow remaining men Chris and Drew are both 27), and it seems like he might not be ready to propose to Des — which is basically a requirement for any bachelor coming on The Bachelorette, just as it is for any bachelorette to fall madly for The Bachelor. It’s part of the storyline, folks.

But Monday’s plot is expected to take a rocky twist when Des and her three man head to Antigua for romantic beachside dinners, helicopter rides and other island shenanigans — including an overnight date with Des for each man in the infamous fantasy suite.

According to an ABC press release, however, Brooks will be MIA for the first part of the trip. When he does arrive, he apparently reveals some — you guessed it — shocking news during a heart-to-heart with Chris that leads to “one of the most explosive, dramatic and emotional moments in ‘Bachelorette’ history.” They wouldn’t have it any other way.

Will Brooks break Desiree’s heart? Will she have to settle for backups Chris or Drew? Will viewers die from the suspense before they have a chance to find out what happened? All of these ridiculous questions answered — we hope — on Monday’s first of the two-part finale. (8 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. MT, 6 p.m. CT, OMNI/ABC)

Three to see

We’re down to seven teams on The Amazing Race Canada, which spends Monday’s episode in Calgary (a shame for Alberta cowpokes Jamie and Pierre, who were eliminated last week). The contestants are set to face hoodoos and a dirty, dirty detour — literally, so get your mind out of the gutter. (9 p.m. ET/PT/MT, 8 p.m. CT, CTV)

Those who think Canadian reality TV shows don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell obviously haven’t heard of The Next Star. That’s OK, because it’s not exactly the best-known show around, and yet the YTV search for the country’s best singer under the age of 15 has been going strong for the past six years. Its latest season kicked off last week, and judges Keshia Chante, Tara Oram and Mark Spicoluk will continue to choose their Top 13 from the auditions this week. Only six hopefuls will make it to a superstar boot camp, and only one kiddo will be crowned the winner during the finale at the end of summer. (7 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. MT/CT, YTV)

Eat your heart out Downton Abbey. Antiques Roadshow remains the No. 1 show on PBS, even as it approaches its 18th season. Society’s recent obsession with junk — sorry, collectables — has helped. Fab items up for display during Monday’s trek to Richmond, Va., include a Cartier desk clock, a Royal Doulton bear, a Carnegie autograph album, 1956 World Series baseballs and a collection of diamonds and rubies. Now that’s a haul. (8 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. MT, 6 p.m. CT, PBS)
