Following a number of client wins announced in December and continued growth of current clients, Havas Melbourne has announced the appointment of Damian Royce to the newly created position of executive creative director.

Royce was part of the Clemenger BBDO Melbourne team for a decade before moving to Whybin\TBWA\Tequila Melbourne in 2011.

In August 2015 Royce moved to Cummins&Partners Melbourne where he held the role of CD.

In his new role, Royce will be responsible for leading the creative charge of the business, bolstering strategic thinking amongst the team and delivering world class ideas that drive growth for brands.

Royce's pedigree has seen him recognised at many international and domestic award shows, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, the Effies, Spikes and One Show.  In recognition of his creative leadership, Royce has judged at Cannes Lions, London International Awards, New York Festivals, South by Southwest (SXSW), Award and more.

Says Matt
Houltham, group managing director, Havas Melbourne: "Damian is one
of those rare creative leaders who meld fantastic digital and
experiential skills with more traditional storytelling abilities. His
versatility is essential for our Village model, where our creative
outputs span every type of channel and format. We are very excited to
have him lead the team to build on the momentum of the last six months
and help take the agency to the next level."

Says Royce on his appointment: "I jumped at the chance to join Matt and the
Havas team as soon as I experienced the unique Havas Village model and
realised the depth of talent in the business. The Havas team genuinely
seem to work as marketing partners for their clients and that provides
the scope to apply creative thinking to solving business and marketing
challenges. That's an inspiring environment to work in as it gives you
the chance to create truly effective and meaningful experiences that
engage people with brands. I'm excited to be part of the team and to be
leading the evolution of our Havas' creative capabilities in Melbourne."
