Love Still Works Today

“The church is called to speak truth to power, no matter how unpopular or how inconvenient. . . . Many are now asking the question: What should we do? What should the church do? What would Jesus do? Jesus is not here today but through us. He left us a formula and the formula is love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them who despitefully use you. . . . Love does its best work when it is pitted against its arch enemy called hatred. The people of God have an opportunity today to use this stage to show the power of love; to show that love is stronger than hate. . . . Love still works today.”

—G. Alexander Bryant, NAD executive secretary, during the July 9, 2016, Adventist church member rally at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C.
