If you’re thinking about calling it quits with your partner, but just can’t decide if that’s the right move, many people may suggest making a pros and cons list. After all, this trick works for all kinds of life decisions.

As that cons side grows longer, women often wish they could find a man as hot, sweet, or heroic as their favorite TV characters. We can’t quite picture Damon Salvatore of “The Vampire Diaries” folding laundry or crying through “The Notebook,” though. So we wondered, would our perfect TV boyfriends have more pros than cons in real life?

Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies) — “The Originals”
Pros — This silky-voiced vampire is handsome, intelligent, rich, and can compel your nagging mother to only call you once a month. He wears impeccably tailored suits every day. He’s incredibly sexy, but also thoughtful and a good listener. Elijah will spill blood and risk his own life to protect you and your unborn child – even if it’s a hybrid werewolf and he’s not the baby daddy.

Cons – He’s an immortal mass murderer, who may someday decide you’re more useful as a snack than a girlfriend. Plus his brother is a psychopath who may kill everyone you love for sport, and Elijah annoyingly always takes his side.

John Reese (Jim Caviezel) — “Person of Interest”
Pros — Like Elijah, John is always wearing a nice suit, unless he’s breaking into a secret government facility at night. He’s calm, polite, has a wry sense of humor, and really does think you look nice in whatever you’re wearing. Best of all, he’s fiercely loyal and always shows up exactly when you need him most, especially if your life is in danger.

Cons – This tall drink of water leads a secret life, taking orders from a sentient machine that sends him off on deadly missions just when you’re supposed to have brunch with your girlfriends. His own friends are an odd group who know more about computer worms and military weapons than they do about the new season of “Orange Is the New Black.” Worst of all, hanging with John means your life might be in danger a lot more than you signed on for.

John Diggle (David Ramsey) — “Arrow”
Pros – A hardcore military man, Digg is strong, smart, honest, and reliable. He’ll do anything for you, including being a stay-at-home dad while you go off on a covert government mission. He’s also incredibly sexy, with a sultry deep voice and killer bod. Watching him and his hot guy friends training together, usually all shirtless, wouldn’t be a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Cons – He spends a lot of time away from home, hanging around in a basement with gorgeous women in tight leather. He’s loyal to a fault to his best friend Ollie (Stephen Amell), who drags him into vendettas with dangerous criminals and isn’t above kidnapping you for his own secret reasons.

Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley) — “Da Vinci’s Demons”
Pros – Leo’s a passionate genius who can paint your portrait as an artistic masterpiece or engineer an irrigation system for your flower garden. He inspires you to be more creative and ambitious. His deeply emotional side can also soothe and commiserate with you when you need to wallow. He’s friends with powerful people and gets invited to all the best parties.

Cons – Sometimes that genius turns to madness and obsessive spiritual journeys overseas that nearly get him killed. He’s always getting involved in wars and dodging sadistic assassins, and you think he has a crush on his hot best friend Zoroaster (Gregg Chillin).

Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) — “Suits”
Pros – Harvey can sweep any girl off her feet with his good looks, charm, and sharp suits. He knows all the best restaurants, and can get tickets to anything. Everyone loves to quote his biting sarcasm and ambitious life advice. You love his solid belief that he can win at anything no matter what the odds.

Cons — This total commitment-phobe is probably in love with his longtime Girl Friday, Donna (Sarah Rafferty). He also hired a lawyer who faked all his credentials, so here’s to a lifetime of waiting for the inevitable fallout from that.

Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) — “Grimm”
Pros – Nick has the dreamiest big blue eyes and perpetually perfect hair. He’s a well-respected policeman who makes you feel safe, loved, and provided for in your giant Craftsman house. He’s funny, clever, and sexy, with just enough of a mysterious moody side to keep things interesting.

Cons – He spends a lot of time hanging out with his Wesen friends, mixing weird potions and beheading dangerous monsters usually only he can see. He also got another girl pregnant, using the lamest excuse ever that he thought she was you. Oh, and one of those weird potions could turn you into a Hexenbiest and get you killed. But nobody’s perfect, right?

These guys may be hot, rich, and fight crime in the noblest and coolest ways possible. We think some of these rather dire cons may dampen our enthusiasm for these boyfriends in real life, though. Which guy on this list would you risk “winking” at on Match.com?
