The yearlong 25 years celebrations of Enabling IT of Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) will culminate into a grand gala “Silver Jubilee Function” on 30th November here in Hyderabad at HiCC. Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao consented to be the Chief Guest.

“We have planned a grand and befitting Silver Jubilee Celebrations,” announced Mr. Ranga Pothula, President of HYSEA and Centre Head Infor Global Solutions. HYSEA played a pivotal role in earning Hyderabad a distinction of being “IT Capital of India,” ‘IT Destination of India.” It is my good fortune to be the President of such a great organization during its Silver Jubilee Year. HYSEA has been a key contributor in facilitating the growth of IT Industry in Hyderabad, Ranga said.

Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao will unveil a Silver Jubilee Sculpture to mark the occasion and celebrate the same, he informed. The Sculpture will be handed over later to TSIIC to preserve it at a  permanent location.

IT Minister of the state, Mr. K. T. Rama Rao will deliver a Silver Jubilee Talk–“Government role in catalyzing value growth,” Ranga Pothula informed. We will screen 3D AV Show on IT industry in Hyderabad, he added.

Mr. Rao will unveil a Coffee Table Book brought for the occasion. It will highlight, mainly through photographs, the 25 years of Enabling IT industry in the state. We will also launch HYSEA’s Silver Jubilee Signature Program–Disruptive Digital Intervention (DDI), Ranga added.

Giving more details in a press note issued in Hyderabad today, Ranga Pothula said, the Governing Board of HYSEA deems it fit to felicitate Padma Bhushan Faqir Chand Kohli, popularly known as F. C. Kohli in recognition for his significant contribution in Indian IT Industry. He is referred to as the Father of the Indian IT Industry. He is sometimes described as the Henry Ford of IT Services. This IT giant laid down the groundwork for the right of a USD 100 billion IT industry, and he was responsible for the development of the software industry in the country.

He is currently ninety years old and has consented to grace the occasion. He was the founder and first CEO of Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest software consultancy company.

Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Executive Chairman, CYIENT; Pratyush Kumar, President, Boeing India, Vice President, Boeing International; Surya Pandit, GM India Technology Centre, CA Technologies; C.P. Gurnani, CEO, Mahindra Satyam; Dr. G.V. Prasad, CEO, Dr. Reddy’s Labs and Sangeeta Reddy, Executive Director, Apollo Group of Hospitals are among others who will grace the celebrations and participate in Talk “Future of Industry–Talk by Industry Leaders”. This talk will be held before the commencement of the Silver Jubilee Function.

Founded small in 1991 by 15 entrepreneurs, it has grown so much, today it has 300 members representing the software industry in Hyderabad. Nobody can deny its role in achieving Rs. 68,000crore IT exports from the state. HYSEA is also working with the state government to achieve the goal of doubling IT exports from the present Rs 68,000crore in next four to five years.

The Association represents the interests of the IT, ITES and Software Products Industry, both Domestic & Export Oriented units in the state of Hyderabad, including Tier II cities. HYSEA’s role over the year expanded to playing a pivotal role in helping the government formulate appropriate policies and extending help in the creation of simpler and more efficient procedures needed for the growth of the industry.

The celebrations began last year in the month of November and continued for one year. During this year, HYSEA organized various special events, not only to celebrate the momentous occasion but also showcased the strength and expertise of the IT/ITES Industry”.

The ‘Car-Free-Thursday’ initiative launched in Hyderabad by HYSEA  to encourage IT/ITeS sector employees to use public transport, carpools, cycles and walk to work is very excellent effort. Though there is a long way to go, but, it had left an initial impression, strong felt need and made many heads turn and take up the initiative seriously.

The huge interest the initiative has generated both regionally and nationally will help create a bigger impact in coming days. Gurgaon and Karnal came out with Car Free Day Every Tuesday, Delhi Odd, and Even Scheme. The initiative is being observed currently across four cities-Hyderabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Karnal. Thanks to the various initiatives and developments followed subsequently, “Car Free Day” was the trending topic on social media and transport industry across the country.

HYSEA, SCSC, TSIIC, and ITE&C Department, lead the massive efforts of the IT/ITES Industry in supporting the ambitious mega tree plantation drive of the Government of Telangana as part of the Haritha Haram program. It planted more than 50,000 saplings in one day. Key locations where saplings were planted included: Open Space beside Franklin Templeton, Biodiversity Park, Raidurgam Internal Roads, Software Units Layout, Varun Motors to ORR, Q City Village Road and Maulana Azad Urdu University (Gachibowli).

Hysea in association with TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge) to set up Maker Space(Labs to build Prototypes) in 18 more Engineering Colleges affiliated to JNTU to imbibe the culture of innovation and product development on colleges campuses A pilot project was successfully implemented in 12 Engineering colleges last year. More than 1500 students participated in the project, and 22 products shortlisted for support and mentorship. Overwhelmed by this response, we want to extend this facility to 18 more engineering colleges, Ranga informed. The project aims to help create Tech Product Startups and Product Startup Ready Engineers.
