PCS Bail Bonds, Fort Worth, Texas’ most trusted bail bonds service, is weighing in on security patrol services decreasing the crime rate in the homeless area of Fort Worth.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) April 24, 2015

PCS Bail Bonds, Fort Worth, Texas’ most trusted bail bonds service, is weighing in on security patrol services decreasing the crime rate in the homeless area of Fort Worth.

The East Lancaster area of Fort Worth has been an area known for homelessness and the crime associated with these conditions and an initiative has begun to improve those dangers. A $39,000 grant given by the Fort Worth Police Department has allowed the Presbyterian Night Shelter to hire guards with marked cars to patrol the area seven days a week, with liberties to contact the police should any dangers be suspected. According to the shelter’s CEO, Toby Owen, there has been a 31% decrease in crime since the system was implemented. “It’s a section of the city that’s had a reputation for homelessness and other crimes,” says Paul Schuder, owner of PCS Bail Bonds. “People don’t always feel safe walking through certain sections of East Lancaster, so it’s encouraging to see steps being taken to change that.”

According to statistics from the Fort Worth Police Department, there has been a decrease in all types of crimes in the six months since the grant was received and includes all kinds of offences; even something like instances of people loitering on the corners has gone down.

“Something as simple as having a patrol out there on a consistent basis causing such an improvement shows that it doesn’t take much to make a difference,” Schuder adds. “Hopefully this decline in crime continues and more funding can come through to keep this initiative going.”

“If the police department can see that it’s working, then that gives hope that they will continue to support the program,” Schuder concludes. “Of course, only time will tell, but this is a promising start.”
