TONIGHT: First Democratic Presidential Debate Watch


We are now AT CAPACITY for our first debate watch party at the Angelika.

Six hundred Democrats have registered to attend the Dallas County Democratic Party’s first 2016 Democratic Presidential Debate Watch Party featuring Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee. All candidates are united by common Democratic values – quality education for our children, equal pay at work, safe communities to live in, and affordable health care for all.

Attendees will cheer on their favorite candidate and play Debate Bingo. Thanks to several elected officials and candidates, the event is free to the public.

Dallas County Judges Ken Molberg and Phyllis Lister Brown will MC from the Angelika’s two largest theaters.

October Club of the Month: The Garland Area Democratic Club

Election This November 3, 2015

On Tuesday, November 3, 2015, we can all vote on seven proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. You can find the ballot language and explanations at http://votetexas.gov/november-3-2015-constitutional-amendment-election-explanatory-statements

As always, we need more election clerks to help hold this election, especially bilingual ones, as well as some Alternate Election Judges and a few Election Judges. Filing for the 2016 Primary

Filing for candidates for Precinct Chair for the 2016 Democratic Primary began on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Candidates for public office can’t file until Saturday, November 14, 2014. Filing ends for candidates for both Precinct Chair and for public office on Monday, December 14, 2015, and is set by law to end at 6 PM.

Note to Precinct Chairs and candidates for Precinct Chair:

the current term will end twenty days after the 2016 Primary Runoff. If you want to be elected to the next two-year term, you will need to file for the Primary ballot. You can find a link to the form and more information about Precinct Chairs at this page:

Risking deportation and the loss of their livelihood, the workers team up with a diverse crew of innovative young organizers and take the unusual step of forming their own independent union, launching themselves on a journey that will test the limits of their resolve.
