Twas the night before Christmas, & all through the garage,
Not a creature was stirring, not even the cars.
As the engine lay sleeping, & the trunk remained empty,
They thought they’d get to go, to yet 1 more show competing.
As the tires on the car, were so glad they could rest,
They knew they were in, a long winter’s nest.
As the temperature grew colder, & the heater went into shock,
It knew it couldn’t get warm, for the battery was on the dock.
As the seats could catch a breather, for they wouldn’t see any fannies,
The carpet could keep its nap up, for it wouldn’t see any candies.
As the hours of the night, keep ticking away,
Sure enough soon, it will be Christmas Day!

Wait until next year, when I visit you at home!

“Free Spirit” Chapter Meeting Minutes, November 1, 2016
Director Sally Getz called the meeting to order @ 7:30 pm. There were 15 members & 2 guests present.

I. OLD BUSINESS:
2017 Upstate NY Regional: Upstate NY Chapter may be holding a 2017 Northeast Buick Regional, September 29-October 1, 2017 @ Saratoga Auto Museum, Saratoga Springs, NY. Watch on www.unybca.com for upcoming details. This might be a nice short travel event for this chapter to think about attending if it is held!
If you received your November edition of the Bugle, you will see many pictures taken during the BCA Celebration, Allentown, Pa.
Please remember to wear your chapter badges to the meetings starting January 2017. If you do not, you pay a $1.00 to Dolores Kennedy.

As of January 2, 2017, when attending the monthly chapter meetings, be sure to wear your BADGE! When you became a “Free Spirit” Chapter member, you received a badge w/ your name on it. Be sure to find it to wear to each & every meeting. If you are a recent new member & you did not receive your badge yet, please ask Dolores Kennedy for one. If you are a member & your spouse does not have a badge, please see Dolores Kennedy.

Northeast Buick Regional, September, 2018, Lehighton, Pa
A Northeast Buick Regional will be held @ Lehighton, Pa @ a place called Pheifers Ice Dams. This is a community park w/ pavilions, ball field, grass, macadam, playground, & plenty of space for a nice show! There are 2 local hotels, 1 within walking distance & 1 just 1000 ft away. There are fine dining restaurants as well as fast food restaurants. The PA turnpike is only 1000 ft away for those who will be traveling! Please keep abreast of the future newsletters to be kept in the loop about this exciting event!
40th Annual Old Car Show, Kempton, Pa, October 30, 2016
It was the most perfect day for a car show, wouldn’t you agree for those of you who attended? The sun was shining & the temperature was in the 70’s!! You couldn’t have asked for any better of a day!
While there were 100 pre-registered cars, 161 cars registered day of show. On November 3rd, we even received a car registration in the mail from the Kempton Community Recreation Center. A gentleman sent his registration to the Center instead of the Getz’s! So that makes the number of day of show registrants, 162 for a total of 262!
Car corral = 8 registered.
Outdoor Flea spaces = 60 spaces sold.
Indoor Flea spaces = 9 spaces sold.

On Saturday, 6 chapter members set up for the Sunday show. Many THANKS to those members who showed up Saturday to set up! As nice as it was on Saturday, sunny & warm, that’s how beautiful it was on Sunday!
On Sunday, 17 members & 3 guests worked the show. A great big “THANK YOU” goes to Brenda Littig & her son. They worked @ the day of show registration area, &, well, they were EXCELLENT! You would have thought that they have done something like that several times before, but, guess what, this was their 1st time! They did a miraculous job! Thank you both again, so very much!
Also, “THANKS” to Michael Nester who did a fabulous job @ the entrance to the show, guiding people in the appropriate pathway to take for the show. He kept the line moving! He stepped right up & volunteered his help!
Also, many “THANKS” to a close neighbor of Dave Brady, Ed. Ed came along with Dave & stepped right into helping park cars! He took a red flag & worked his tail off!
Also, “THANKS” to the Getzs’ friend, Amanda, who also helped with DOS registration. She worked well together with Laura Getz & Sandy Reiniger!
Last but not least of all, “THANKS” to those chapter members who worked the show. From those who were there by 6:00 am to start, John Moore & Shirley Schaffer, to those who came in during the am hours of the show, “THANK YOU!” Part of this shows success is the workers who work it. Yes, it was a very early day, & a long day but the reward was obtained in the end, a SUCCESS!
Men Are Just Happier People.
What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don’t have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you’re talking to them. New shoes don’t cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Two pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes — one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can ‘do’ your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives On December 24 in 25 minutes. No wonder men are happier.
NICKNAMES
� If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah.
� If Mike, Dave and John go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Bubba and Wildman.
EATING OUT
� When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it’s only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.
� When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.
MONEY
� A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
� A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t need but it’s on sale.
BATHROOMS
� A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel.
� The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items.
ARGUMENTS
� A woman has the last word in any argument.
� Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.
FUTURE
� A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A married man should forget his mistakes. There’s no use in two people remembering the same thing!
People can make a difference… Here are just a few examples:
The many people that helped make this boy’s dream come true.
This store employee who gives extra service.
The paramedics who took an elderly man to the hospital and then came back and finished shoveling his driveway for him.
The person who decided to put new tires on a stranger’s car just because he needed it.
What can you do for someone this Holiday Season? Think about it.
