Winter does not mean that you have to stop thinking about flowers and gardens. The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens Society has a ton of horticultural programs and shows that will assuredly keep you and your green thumb happily busy until spring rolls around. Even after the warm weather returns, the Botanical Gardens’ complex is a non-stop flurry of activity that showcases some of the most captivating classes, festivals, tours and tastings, all situated in the midst of abundant vegetation.

Looking to escape from the chill and the snow? Miss the green grass and leaves on the trees? A stop into the Botanical Gardens, for a stroll or a class, is a great way to refuel without going away for a vacation.

A very unique show!  Hundreds of single hosta leaves (not the flowers) will be displayed in vases and grouped by size and color and judges will analyze each leaf for awards. AAC 1 – August 1-5- Multi-Medium Advanced Art Camp (Ages 10-16) with previous art experience

AC 4 – August 8-12 – Multi-Medium

AC 5 – August 15-19 – Painting

AC 6 – August 22-26 – Drawing

SAVE by participating in Art AND Junior Botanist camps! 9am-4pm, Garden Members $150 or $30/day, Non-members $160 or $32/day. Campers staying for both camps will need to bring a bagged lunch. Lunchtime is from 12-12:30. Campers coming just for the afternoon session are welcome to join their friends at lunchtime and bring their lunch too.

Junior Botanist Camp

12:30pm-4pm, Garden Members $95 per series or $19 per day, Non-members $105 per series or $21 per day

For elementary age kids – completed kindergarten through 6th grade.  Kids will become Junior Botanists for the week; exploring the Gardens, learning about plants, playing games, making a plant to take home and other fun activities.
