BUDDYHEAD WORLD PREMIERE: Spindrift – “The Matador & the Fuzz”

Meet my favorite psychedelic spaghetti western rock band in the world… Spindrift! Ok, they don’t like to be called Spaghetti western so let’s go with cinematically inspired psychedelic rock, cool? Either way you slice it, they’re one of the best bands around and on top of that they happen to hail from my favorite city in the world… lovely Los Angeles, California.

Hey Quentin Tarantino, put down the donuts for a second and pay attention here… here’s your soundtrack for the Django sequel bro. Done! Boom! You’re welcome bud.

Anyhoo… Spindrift’s new album, “Ghost Of The West”, is also a feature film. Both were recorded in various Ghost Towns across the Western United Sates while on tour in October 2012. Along the way, the excursion was filmed and documented by acclaimed director Burke Roberts (check out this website @ http://burkerobertspm.com his stuff is amazing) and cinematographers JT Gurzi and Rich Ragsdale. While the Soundtrack came out 10/23/13, the feature film is due in early 2014.

In the meantime, to tied you over until the movie drops, they’re offering up a new music video for their song “The Matador and the Fuzz”. And they’re doing it in fuckin’ style by world premiering this bitch on Buddyhead. Yeah man! I always say the best music videos are full of sluts + clouds, and this one features lots of clouds so you know I’m into it. When I asked em how this song came about the band said it was “primarily inspired by the bands love of Spanish bullfighting and Nationalist music a la “Los “Romeros” as well as that of the classic recordings and orchestral arrangements of Hugo Montenegro”. All of those references are way over my head but I’m still digging it. Check it out here! World-world-world-premiere!
