Boomla is a better application platform for websites, which I call a Website OS. See boomla.com. The company is a startup, cash-flow positive from other sources.
Traditional DB driven website builders are overly complex for the mainstream audience, including both end users and developers. There is simply too much to learn on the LAMP stack. Too many parts, too many languages, too many things to go wrong. They are going to go with the simplest solution to get shit done.
Boomla is a fully integrated replacement for WordPress, the entire LAMP stack and hosting solutions. Unlike Linux, Boomla is a fully transactional application platform – as required for the Web. Boomla provides a concurrency safe, transactional filesystem with built-in version control. Programming Boomla is extremely simple due to its functional execution model.
Position
I am looking for a front end engineer to work on top of the Boomla platform: write apps, themes, improve the Boomla Toolbar and other client side tools, talk to users, record video intros, write documentation, etc. You will be the first employee and you will work directly with me, the founder. This is a full time position, on site in Budapest XVI.
I am looking for a pro who wants to work on a ground-breaking product with huge impact.
Stack of one
The server side stack is Boomla. That’s all. You can execute code in JavaScript VMs (ECMAScript 5.1). Because it is synchronous, it feels like PHP.
No client side stack is enforced. Boomla is a platform after all, not a framework. Use anything you want.
What I absolutely need
Strong JavaScript (ECMAScript 5.1), HTML, CSS, design/UX skills.
Strong generalist.
TDD experience.
Show me a product you have built.
Fluent in English.
