Doylestown Tree Lighting & Santa Coming to Town

November 28th, 6:00pm

Santa will first be seen riding from Central Bucks West in an old-fashioned fire truck, accompanied by the school’s marching band. The school’s choir will sing holiday songs to add to the festive mood. Santa will help with the countdown for the 100th annual tree lighting at 6:30pm. Santa will see every child at his house located on Hamilton and State Street. The house will remain open until Christmas Eve.

Sunday November 30th at 6pm

Join New Hope for their annual tree lighting ceremony. This year’s tree will feature simple white lights instead of the colorful musical show that displayed in New Hope for the past 3 years.  Choral music starts at 6 p.m. and Santa will arrive at 6:15, just in time to begin the countdown to tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.

Guests are invited to gather ‘round and celebrate the lighting of our Christmas tree adorned with handcrafted ornaments made by the children from the William Penn Center Preschool and Kindergarten and enjoy the beautiful seasonal music presented by the Fallsington United Methodist Church Worship Choir. This event will be held if raining, sleeting, or snowing as long as roads are passable.

Quakertown Holiday Tree Lighting Festival

With an ice sculpting display, live alpacas, strolling Victorian carolers and Christmas and holiday vendors. It wouldn’t be festive without Santa’s appearance brought into town on a firetruck! Visit participating stores for complimentary hot cider, hot chocolate, and cookies.

Annual Souderton Holiday Parade

The parade runs about an hour and a half as it winds it way down Main Street from Grace Bible Church to the intersection with Broad Street and then out East Broad Street to the intersection of School Lane. The remainder of the day is filled with activities for the entire family.

Yardley’s Olde Fashioned Christmas Parade

String Bands, George Washington, Belgian Horses, Sponge Bob, Batman and all their friends. Watch and listen to Pennsbury’s Marching Band as they escort the one and only Santa Claus! The parade will kick off at the American Legion at 3:30 sharp and proceed down Main Street to the Friends Meeting House on North Main Street.

The holiday parade, sponsored by the Newtown Business Association, is a family tradition!  It will begin on South State St at the Stocking Works building and continue through the Borough. The parade will feature the local high school marching bands, a Mummers band, floats, antique cars, fire trucks, Santa, and more. This year will also feature recognition for participants’ efforts in making the parade terrific. Float categories include best theme, best decorated, and most creative. A hand-picked panel will be reviewing every participant in the parade and deciding on the best based on their presentation, creativity, and theme.

Volunteers will meet on Saturday at 9:00am. The easiest way to hang the snowflakes is with an electric drill and a 8mm socket (with extension). You can also use an electric screwdriver or flathead screwdriver. You will need a 6ft ladder. We will have extra ladders and 8mm sockets with extensions if you do not have one.

An annual museum tradition that captures the excitement of Christmas from a child’s point of view. Amidst trees decorated to the tastes of earlier eras, from the 1860s to the 1960s, visitors discover an array of toys and games like those that once delighted children on Christmas mornings. Exhibit features decorations and toys from the Mercer Museum and major private collections, with new objects on view each year.

Delight in the sounds, scents, and scenes of the holidays at the Mercer’s traditional Holiday Open House. The festivities kick-off with a musical parade escorting St. Nick to the museum’s Log House. Sip hot cider, sing along with carolers, listen to musical performances, wish your troubles away with the “burning of the greens,” and make a simple ornament to help adorn one of the holiday trees featured in an upcoming exhibit.
