We had been making a few trips to the airport --pick-ups, send-offs.  All of them at night. As I'd mentioned before, I don't really go out that much at night anymore and on these recent nights out, I felt like a little girl allowed to stay out late.  It was nice to see the city lights against the black velvet backdrop of the night sky.  Hong Kong, on any ordinary day, is ablaze with lights at night.  Around Christmas and Chinese New Year, there are even more lights than usual.   The photo below was taken around 11:30 pm last night.  See how bright it still was?  This wasn't even in the city proper.

It's a bit of a challenge to take pics through the windshield of a vehicle driving down the highway (don't worry, I wasn't at the wheel!).  I love the slightly off focus, though, and the light drizzle kinda added to the overall mood.
