Earlier this year, the guys and girls over at GTArcade announced that their iconic browser game League of Angels was getting an official sequel. This further expands the franchise of the warrior angels, after the publisher already released a mobile spinoff and announced a motion picture. League of Angels 2 started its open beta only last week, but it seems as though things have gone smoothly, as the browser game has now been officially released. Not only can anyone sign up an account and delve into the action-packed fantasy world, but the RPG is now finally not in a testing stage anymore.

Gorgeous 3D Graphics

Many players who are familiar with the first title in the franchise might wonder what’s so different about the successor. According to the team behind League of Angels 2, the new roleplaying game features a richer and more immersive world than any title in the series before. For the first time ever, a League of Angels game combines advanced 3D graphics with beautiful animations bringing browser games to the next level, or so the publisher claims.

According to GTArcade, the closed beta has already surpassed all expectations, as the demand was so overwhelming for the RPG that a second server had to quickly be set up to handle the huge influx of players. By April 5th, more than 22,000 players had signed up an account for the game. Quite the number considering that the game had only been available for a few days at that point.

League of Angels 2 is available for free in the browser of your choice. Simply head on over to the official game homepage by clicking the green button below and sign up an account. You can immediately delve into the game.

Things are getting dark and gloomy in Goodgame’s real time strategy game Goodgame Empire. An update has gone live today which offers new content and features for Shadow Units. It looks like the Shadow Commander has thoroughly trained his troops in the past, as he is introducing players to two brand new units – the Deathly Shadows and Demon Shadows. Players can now recruit them in the shadow mercenaries camp. Unfortunately, these troops are still only available in shadow attacks. In other types of conflict, players have to continue relying on regular units. It is possible to regularly level up the two new units and thereby improve them.

The update also brings some improvements when it comes to exploring far away areas. The Everwinter Glacier (at level 18), the Burning Sands (at level 35), and the Fire Peaks (at level 45) can be unlocked a little earlier now for a ruby fee. Players who don’t have enough rubies can also do so using resources instead.

The update also features various bug fixes, some improvements for the user interface, and a few in-game balances.

Gaijin Entertainment’s upcoming action game which seems to be inspired by the postapocalyptic world of Mad Max has started its next major testing phase. For a couple of weeks, Crossout has gone through various smaller testing sessions where the developers thoroughly refined the gameplay and balanced the title. Now, the servers are constantly live, and lucky testers get to enjoy the official closed beta of the action game. Anyone who wants to immediately delve into the fast-paced world and build their own vehicles can do so by purchasing one of three different early access starter packs that range approximately between $20 and $50. Less affluent players will have to take a different route and register an account on the official homepage and sign up for a precious beta key. Maybe they will be lucky enough to receive an invitation that allows them to access the game in one of the upcoming waves of invites.

The developers behind Crossout are definitely not fooling around. They have added more new features to the action game, just in time for the beginning of closed beta. Even in this early testing phase, the title already supports some virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive. Players with the required financial situation can already experience the game more intensively than ever before.

Additionally, the closed beta introduces so called Leviathans to Crossout. These are custom made metal monsters that can be sent into PvE battles where they will be controlled by AI and collect precious points.

Since yesterday, players can pre-order Valve’s Virtual Reality Headset that was developed in cooperation with HTC. The delivery will follow in May. Anyone with a little more than $800 to spare can delve into a virtual reality sponsored by Valve. Currently, players will have to make do with various Indie games that have been ported to virtual reality, but were originally developed without that feature in mind. While there are a few big multi-million dollar productions in the works, it will still take a while before they come out.

In order to promote their new piece of hardware, Valve has started a big marketing campaign. A newly released trailer promotes a new feature for Dota 2 which could be released in the very near future. The video shows a new spectator mode for the MOBA, which allows players to follow eSports events in virtual reality. In addition to the regular broadcast players will see a three-dimensional map that depicts the participating players in real time. Moreover there will be extensive statistics, character details, and much more – all in gorgeous 3D visuals. It will allow spectators to really feel like they are part of the action. Of course, we are hoping that Valve takes this concept one step further, allowing viewers to move around the map in 3D during a match. Here’s to hoping!

The voxel based sandbox RPG Trove is getting its first major expansion of the year. The Mantle of Power has now been previewed on the game’s official website, and it looks like it will bring a plethora of new content and features to the roleplaying adventure. While players can look forward to 10 new character levels, 4 new types of elemental Adventure Worlds, and 3 new Uber world difficulties, the preview shines a light on one feature in particular – empowered class abilities.

The Empowered Gems will certainly add an entirely new layer of strategy and customization to Trove. The gems will allow players to modify their character class’ abilities. A new tab is added to the character sheet giving players the chance to add Gems and Empowered Gems and improving their characters in unique ways. The gem slots can be unlocked at levels 10, 18, 24, and 28 while the Empowered Gem slots unlock at level 21, 26, and 30. For example, the Gunslinger gets an overcharged shot at the expense of attack speed, the Neon Ninja trades his shuriken for a massive buzzsaw that cuts through enemies, and the Shadow Hunter turns his basic attack into a stream of arrows at the expense of energy. There’s a lot more to explore, as every class can make use of Empowered Gems.

There will also be several gems that can be universally used by all classes. The Pyrodisc erupts into a flaming disc after defeating enemies and the Mired Mojo will randomly be triggered whenever characters deal damage spawning a ring of snaring projectiles which reduce movement speed.

Players will also have the ability to level up their gems to give them even more power. However, they can also crack and fail, so it makes sense to take good care of them.

The Mantle of Power expansion will be released on April 26th. Players can also pre-order the packs to get early access on April 19th.
