Back in September the Pokemon Company announced that they were joining teams with Niantic to create a new game called Pokemon Go. Now we have some more information about the mobile game.

The game is designed to use the augmented reality and GPS technology from Niantic’s flagship game Ingress, and adapt it for the Pokemon universe. When the game was announced it came with a cool, well-produced trailer showing players around the world playing with their pocket monsters. The game looks to be a cool blend between nostalgia, and modern technology, and we are excited to find out where Niantic and The Pokemon Company go with this game.

In an interview with GamesBeat, the CEO of Niantic answered some questions about the upcoming mobile game. He outlined that the game will not be an Ingress clone with a pokemon skin, but rarther a more in-depth challenge for Pokemon fans that will take them all around their area in search of rare pokemon, or to do battle in Gyms. The gameplay will include elements of asynchronous play, meaning that as you travel somewhere, you will encounter players and be able to do battle with them, despite them not being in the same location.

On top of all of this, there is a brand new Pokemon accessory for dedicated players to wear. This is going to be released separately to the game, and will vibrate whenever a Pokemon is nearby that can be caught. In order to catch the beast, players just have to push the little button on the device, and it will be added to their collection. After the winter update, Team Fortress 2 fans already have something new to play with. The Tough Break update is now live, complete with new maps, contracts and items in the free-to-play FPS game.

Just in time for the holiday period, Valve (Dota 2) has released a huge update for Team Fortress 2. Fans of the game are always in-store for some quality updates, as Valve consistently rolls out well made and content-packed patches for their popular FPS game. This time around players can look forward to some brand new maps, new contracts, and a few new items.

26 New Contracts

The campaign in the Tough Break update is spread over three whole months; this means that skills will be put to the test to complete contracts and earn one-of-a-kind rewards in the form of weapons and items. Each individual contract will let the player hone their skills on whichever character they decide to use. On top of this, there are some weapon-specific contracts that can been completed, and it’s possible to borrow weapons for the duration of the contract. This means that all players can complete all contracts, regardless of which items they have in their backpack.

New Community Created Maps

A Team Fortress 2 event never passes by without some community created content involved. This time we have four maps, one of each of the game-modes; capture the flag, king of the hill, control point, and payload. What’s more, is that all of the map creators will get a percentage of sales from the contract passes, so Valve is giving something back to those that make the game possible. Check out the screenshots below to see some images of the new maps.

For those that haven’t played the game, click the button below and head over to the main website to download the game for free. It’s available on steam, and can be played on Windows or Mac.
