Up until now, Android users have been rather jealous of their iOS using counterparts, as they were the only ones with access to the new Fallout Shelter game. Android users can now join iOS users and build their very own Fallout themed bunker to prevent the extinction of the human race.

In Bethesda Softwork’s game, players have to build various rooms in their bunker to manage the needs of its inhabitants and the resources they require. Players need power generators, water treatment plants, dining halls, living quarters and medbays, to name just a few. They have to be careful, as dangerous irradiated creatures can appear in their bunker, attackers can try to get through the vault door, and fires can break out.

Each Citizen is Different

Each of the inhabitants have different attributes, like strength, perception, intelligence, and luck, which you will be familiar with if you have played any of the other games in the Fallout series. These attributes are to be used and aligned with the characteristics that make each room run smoothly.

Hot on the heels of Wargaming’s latest German tech tree announcement comes another chunk of news about a major update. The new update brings yet more content that moves World of Warships in the direction of a more competitive and well-rounded free-to-play game. New maps, ranked battles, matchmaking, and balance improvements are on their way.

Ranked Battles & Matchmaking

Anyone who plays Wargaming’s World of Tanks, will be familiar with the ranked system that they have in place. World of Warships is now getting the same treatment. The new, season long “Ranked Battles” event is available to all players who have reached at least level 9, are not enlisted in any divisions, and have Tier VI and VII ships. The new Ranked Battles are just a little different than the standard battles that we are used to. Teams are limited to 7 players per team and there are ship restrictions in place, meaning that only 2 battleships, and 1 aircraft carrier is allowed in the battle.

In order to climb ranks, you just have to win games. The Ranked Battles will award players with XP and credits just like normal, but with each victory comes a star. When a player reaches a certain amount of stars, they move up a rank. Wargaming has said that in the future they want to experiment with different rewards for different ranks, but at the moment the reward system isn’t going to be implemented.

In addition to the ranked battles, the matchmaking system has had an update. A frequent gripe of players is that the battles sometimes seem unfair or imbalanced. Wargaming has listened to their players and have implemented a matchmaking system that distributed ships evenly and equally by quantity and tiers, to avoid any unfair battles.

New Maps

Despite the ridiculously hot summer that many regions are experiencing, World of Warships is taking players to warmer waters in two new maps:

Players can battle it out off the Italian coast in the Strait Map, which takes its inspiration from Middle Eastern and Mediterranean geographical features.

The Solomon Islands is the second map announced. This map is a representation of the area where one of the biggest military campaigns of World War II took place, the Battle of Guadalcanal.

The Wargaming team have also added a number of visual improvements to the port and also to existing maps. Players can now see forests, jungles and trees on all of the maps that have a suitable climate. These new graphical updates are only visible on at least medium settings.

Aviation Overhaul

Many players are used to just launching their fighters and then forgetting about them, letting them do their own thing to struggle for air superiority. This latest update allows players to manually control their fighters, just like they would with bombers and torpedo bombers. Using your fighters this way may be more difficult, but a skillful player will be able to gain the upper hand.

This update brings a whole host of things that players can look forward to. Along with all of the new content comes the usual balance fixes and some quality of life changes. You can read the full patch notes here, and if you want to get involved in the public test environment here.

It’s been a long time coming, but Skyforge is finally taking its place amongst other great titles that have appeared as a Game of the Day here at browsergamez.com. The announcement this week of the huge Crucible of the Gods update has solidified Skyforge as a game that deserves to join the ranks of games such as World of Warships and Path of Exile in our Game of the Day half of fame.

For those not in the know, Skyforge is an MMORPG that sucks players into an immersive world full of magic, demi-gods, and futuristic technology. You might be wondering why we chose today to declare Skyforge as our Game of the Day. After all, it has been available to play for quite a long time. Well the answer is simple; it’s not every day that you find a free-to-play MMORPG that continues to support its community and release content-filled updates. Most of the time when a free-to-play game releases an update, you might get a few new character skins, and perhaps some weapons and some bug fixes. Skyforge, on the other hand, has given us the chance to make the ascension to a demi-god in their latest Crucible of the Gods update. Not only that, they have included new raids, alien invasions, and an entire new skill tree to explore with the new godly powers.

So if you're looking for a free-to-play MMORPG, look no further than Skyforge. Hopefully they will continue to support their player base with content-filled updates like Crucible of the Gods well into the future.
