A brand new patch has been added to the free-to-play MOBA Heroes of the Storm. Its main purpose was to end the Lunar Festival that started in the beginning of February, bringing fun quests, skins, and other items to the online game. It wouldn’t be typical for Blizzard to release an update that only ends a fun event like this. That's why they made use of this patch to also add a brand new hero to their MOBA set in the Diablo, Warcraft, Overwatch, The Lost Vikings, and StarCraft universe. At this point, it almost feels as though players can enjoy a new hero once a month, considering that the introduction of Li-Ming was in the beginning of February.

The newest hero to the Nexus is called Xul – the Cryptic Necromancer, and he is taken from the Diablo 2 franchise. Players of the action-RPG will notice his slightly different look, as the developers chose to equip him with a Scythe instead of a dagger, flail, or bone shield. His abilities reflect his lore focusing on his connection with the dead. Mortal Wound hits enemies with the Scythe, giving them a reduced healing for several seconds. Corpse Explosion is taken straight from Diablo 2, allowing Xul to summon Skeletal Warriors who explode when they are defeated. His Bone Spear is a linear skillshot that will give Xul an edge on the battlefield.

The days are getting longer; the sun feels a little warmer on our skin; and the first flowers are blooming – this can only mean one thing: It is time for various free-to-play online games and mobile games to start teasing their upcoming Easter events. One studio that has made it their tradition to add an event focusing on eggs and bunnies is Blue Byte, who annually bring an extensive Easter update to The Settlers Online. This year's happy Easter egg hunt will start on March 16th. Over the course of several weeks, players have the chance to find as many striped eggs as possible. This resource can be used as a currency in the event category of the shop. Here, players can find all kinds of new objects, buildings, and characters such as a daring female explorer and an improved butcher.

A central part of the event will be the “Party Crashers” feature. These folks will set up camp in the center of the home zone on a small island that can only be reached by a general. There are various ways to deal with them – by bribing them, teaming up with other players, or attacking them with a general. The Party Crashers need to be dealt with in 15 iterations. It should be noted that they become stronger with each passing day. Upon their defeat, they will be replaced by other daily challenges, including strong bandit units and bosses that are also very difficult to defeat.

Additionally, the Easter event features various quests that give players a chance to collect more eggs. Completing these quests and also playing Easter buff adventures allow event participants to collect achievement points which they can use to upgrade the new Spacious Warehouse. The building can be unlocked by finishing the quest chain called “For my most loyal egg hiders.”

The first removal phase will take place on April 5th; the final deactivation will take place on April 12th.
