This past weekend the Crusaders (1-0) traveled to face the Plaquemine Green Devils and returned home with a 58-34 victory Friday night at Plaquemine High Stadium. The Crusaders started the game fast and built a 38-14 lead into halftime buoyed by 24-straight points to close out the first and second quarters. Jake Broggi and Bruce Jordan-Swilling were key players throughout this non-district game. Jordan- Swilling ran 227 yards and had four touchdowns while catching three passes for 84 yards and another score for the Crusaders. Broggi threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
The Crusaders will be back in action this Friday vs. the St. Stanislaus’ Rock-A-Chaws. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Bro. Phillip Memorial Stadium (behind the school) located at 415 Bookter Street, Bay St. Louis 39520. Tickets can only be purchased at the gate for $5 each.
