Will this be the year former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis finally gets into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Davis and former Denver safeties John Lynch and Brian Dawkins are among the finalists for the 2017 Hall of Fame class. Voters will decides this year’s inductees on Saturday, the night before Super Bowl LI.

3 retired RBs in NFL history have 60+ rushing TDs, 7K+ yards, 4.5+ YPC and 90+ rush YPG.

Some voters have told Cecil Lammey of 104.3 The Fan that they believe Davis is among the five most qualified finalists. Former Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe, who was enshrined in Canton in 2011, believes Davis should be joining him in the Hall.

“I think he’s the best postseason running back in NFL history. It’s not the ‘hall of longevity,’ it’s the Hall of Fame,” Sharpe told Lammey. “His career is very comparable to Earl Campbell (Houston Oilers) and Gale Sayers (Chicago Bears).” Sharpe said. “I don’t really know what else you want him to do. It’s not like he can put on the pads and get more numbers.”

Davis, like Campbell and Sayers, belongs in the Hall of Fame.
