Grammy Awards 2016 ceremony will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles , California, recognising the best recordings, compositions and artists from the stipulated time of October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015.
This is the first it would be holding on a Monday, as it had always been held on Sundays. According to the organisers, the move is temporary, because that day would fall on an American holiday weekend, the President’s Day.
Kendrick Lamar, who has the highest nominations, taking up 11, has beaten Eminem to the record as the rapper with the highest nominations in one night, and coming second behind Michael Jackson, who had 12 in one night. Kendrick is billed to perform at the event, alongside The Weekend, who has seven nominations and Adele.
