I did get the NX50 transmitter set up for MDCL with IBOC. Was very easy to do with the latest firmware update. Just waiting to see the effect on the power bill. I also helped an Iheart station install MDCL on their Harris rig. They use a closed air conditioned room for the transmitter so not only are they using less power for the transmitter but it also produces less heat so the AC does not have to work as hard.
The Nautel was alot easier to get the MDCL working since it's an option in the software set up. I recently had to buy a new vehicle. According to the saless person I was the first to evaluate a car based on how 7 AM stations sounded on the Radio. Was not at all impressed with what VW had. Ford with a Sony system sounded best and had good reception. I got a used 2011 model that did not have an HD radio but a decent AM radio. I may still get an HD radio, if anything it will be fun to go to car toys and drive them nuts just listening to AM stations to evaluate the radio.
