If you are looking for my post for the A Blog Named Hero 2nd Birthday blog hop, please click here or scroll down on the main page of my blog to the next post.

I’m thrilled to be on the Top Dog Dies blog today with a post sharing two projects. I even have a step-by-step tutorial for the first card. Spoiler alert: both projects involve really cool dies and a lot of Distress Ink.

First, a little bit about Top Dog Dies. I’ll let them introduce themselves to you!

Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Lawn Fawn, Taylored Expressions. Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by British designer Stephanie Weightman.

Top Dog Dies also be doing a guest designer giveaway for the whole month of April that you guys can enter! The winner will receive $50 worth of exclusive dies from Top Dog Dies (their choice!). Here’s the link for that giveaway: http://www.topdogdies.com/

Now, onto the projects!

For this card, I worked with the A2 Card #4 Steel die for the base. There are so many ways that card base could go – I chose to use the flap as a closure behind the Darby Doily and sentiment, but this would also be awesome as a card where you decorate the inside and then use the outside as an envelope to send in the mail. That would be such a fun surprise for the recipient!

Here are the supplies I used on the first card. Again, for a step-by-step tutorial for this card, check out the Top Dog Dies blog post!

I also got the opportunity to work with one of their shaped cards steel dies (the A2 Diaper Card) + coordinating card finisher wafer thin dies (Diaper Card Finishers). I really, really like all of the elements they included in the accessories set, especially since all of them are not specifically baby-themed (well, except for the diaper insert, of course!). I can definitely see myself using those dies on a completely un-baby-related project, and I love that versatility.

Here are the supplies used on this card. For more detail on how I made this card (and why I put so many layers of ink on it), check out the blog post. :)

Thanks so much to the Top Dog Dies crew for letting me try out some of your dies and having me on the blog today! I’m really impressed with the quality and versatility of all of the dies I tried, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Love,

Britta
