My totally unattainable fashion wishlist.

Being both the editor of a fashion website and a student is a funny sort of contradiction, one where high glamour meets beans on toast, where catwalk shows meet coursework deadlines and one where the clothes I get to see on the runway pretty much never make it into my wardrobe due to the fact I have limited funds to spend on, well, anything actually. As much as I’d like to add a pair of leather Saint Laurent skinnies into my collection, my current life priorities include 1) paying rent,
2) getting a cat
, 2) paying bills and
3) going to the pub
,
3) eating 3 healthy meals a day
, 3) eating pasta.

That being said, whatever wise soul once said ‘fashion is a fantasy’ was completely right. I can dream. Here are some of my recent favourite designer finds:

Panda Tee, Eleven Paris, £34.99

Pandas are my second favourite animal (the first is raccoons in case you’re interested), so when I saw this t-shirt I just had to (virtually) have it. So adorable!

Leather Jacket, Michael Kors, £478.99

My leather jacket(s) are honestly one of the answers I give to one of those ‘what three items would you save from your house in a fire?‘ type questions. That, and my laptop and the necklace my mum gave me for my 18th birthday. If you haven’t read my previous post about the timeless, unquestionable cool of a leather jacket here, you should.

Black Dress, Saint Laurent, £2,085

As perhaps one of the few members of the fashion community not enraged by Saint Laurent’s new design direction, I’ll be adding this black number with a sheer back and slit detailing to my wishlist. But with the price tag being over £2000, let’s just pop to town and bag the Topshop equivalent, shall we?

Rose Wedges, Dolce & Gabbana, £3,545

Usually a hater of all things pink and girly, these shoes are a rare exception. If Dolce & Gabbana want to send me these for this year’s British Fashion Awards, that’d be fab, but I’m not holding out much hope.

Black Skinny Jeans, Karl Lagerfeld, £200

I wear black skinny jeans more than I’d like to admit. They’re easy, they look good with most things and there’s little thought involved in putting together an outfit involving them. Plus, it’s easy to go from day to night simply by changing your shoes or your jacket. To add a slight twist to simple black denim, I’d go for something like this ‘wax’ effect on these jeans by Karl Lagerfeld. The texture allows the jeans to stand out, whilst still overall being a versatile staple.
