Our client in Dallas, TX Is looking for an Electrical Applications Engineer on a direct hire basis:
General Overview
This position requires experience in the design, testing and diagnostics of medium – high voltage power cables. Additionally, a high level of technical competence is needed to aid product design and development as well as provide technical guidance and support to the customers and product managers.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for products via the telephone, with personal visits, demonstrations, and hands-on training primarily for the cable fault location
Validate product specifications through application testing of hardware and software products
Participate in marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences
Write technical papers for industry publications and presentation at industry events
Stay abreast of industry practices and trends relevant to cable fault diagnostics
Contribute to product specifications, software, and application literature as well as product design & development
Qualifications:
B.S. in Power Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in cable fault diagnostics, test result interpretation and report generation
Candidate must be knowledgeable of VLF, Tan Delta and Partial Discharge methodologies
Familiarity with equipment used in cable fault diagnostics and locating such as Surge Generators (thumpers), Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs)
Above average verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge of industry trends and practices
Presentation and good interpersonal/customer service skills in order to present, support and demonstrate products
Ability to travel (50%)
Position requires strong computer skills including knowledge of various Windows platforms, software installation, various PC I/O ports and Microsoft Office
Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
