We found just the one winner and placing from the six races last week but hopefully the couple of Blackbook winners may have helped along with Dame Destiny Wednesday. Let’s see if we can’t find a few more this week, looks a fair punting day and have a bit of confidence leading in.

*Been an exceptionally hot week in south east Qld and the track should be firm and quick times run again. (Chance of a storm is never ideal race day but who knows if they even hit the track)

Track- DOOMBEN

Rail-  +4m

(NOTE: I could update this article leading up to and after scratchings on Saturday)

BLACKBOOKERS:

*2 or 3 leading chances and a couple look out of their grade*

Chillin With Dylan – Sat Nov 28 Doomben R2- On the back-up, up to a trip. 59kg but on top.

Kudero - Sat Nov 28 Doomben R4- Won’t back him in this grade- Aiming too high!

Feltre – Sat Nov 28 Doomben R7- Didn’t expect to run here. Would need rain to fall into a place.

Lord Coconuts – Sat Nov 28 Doomben R8- One of the dangers to horse below.

Sheiswhatsheis – Sat Nov 28 Doomben R8- On top, will lead and be hard to catch.

Race 1:

Watching on as usual in these events.

Race 2:

CHILLIN WITH DYLAN is on the back-up which I love with stayers, had no luck last week and will have sprint in his legs. The 59kg is not ideal, however Wiggins knows the horse and they are obviously very confident in not taking the claim, really well placed.

Really unsure what to make of ANNAMAN, mixes form, looks to be far better on wet ground but has performed well on top of the ground too. Was smashed in the betting last time. May be worth holding out to see if the same support comes on a firm track?

Do your best away from them but trifecta/first4horses may be MR LEBROCK, ROCK THE PAC, THE THOMAS AFFAIR and GRAPPA BRANDY.

On Top:  1-CHILLIN WITH DYLAN

Race 3:

Think there will be some speed on here. A race I’m not sure I will bet on.

MY GIRL HAYLEY is the horse that interests me but has come up with a horror gate and I can’t see it panning out for her at this stage. The 1110m is a tricky starting point and there is a lot of speed drawn underneath of her. She struck me as well above average and looked to be running well on raw ability first prep. Have been waiting for her to come back and she may jump out of the ground this time in work.

Stablemate MOST IMPORTANT is an underrated galloper, he sweats up big time in the yard but always runs well.

DRAM OF RED was very ordinary 1st up and I want to see him do something before I’m on him again.

If LE CHEF was at his best the 60kg may not be a concern. May have been issues his last couple but you’d have to take him on trust. The stable feels they have him right, we will know a lot more after today…..

Not sold on PRIVLAKA just yet but you have to say it is the horse with all the favours here, good gate to get a great run, 2kg claim to get in light. This is its chance to break through on a Saturday.

On Top:  4-MY GIRL HAYLEY

Others:  2-MOST IMPORTANT,  1-LE CHEF,  5-PRIVLAKA

Race 4:

Big field from the 1110m starting point which means they should run along.

Very open field but three leading chances in my mind. Loved the win of ESPIRITU fresh, DANTGA was unlucky on that occasion and TREATMELIKEALADY resumes here.

ESPIRITU is a quality mare who returned to her best last time out. Should be improved off the run and gate 1 is simply golden here. The horse she has to beat is DANTGA and he gets a 2kg swing in the weights in his favour. He is also a beauty, consistent and was the best run in that race after being wide, he was set a task and went super.

TREATMELIKELADY has been in and scratched a couple of times but they find the right track, trip and hard surface she thrives on. 1 from 1 this track/trip but goes like a bomb fresh with 3 wins and a placing from her 4 fresh runs. Respect any support.

On Top:  9-DANTGA   $5

Hardest To Beat:  6-TREATMELIKEALADY,  1-ESPIRITU

Race 5:

Tough start to the Quaddie.

Plenty of speed but this is a much fairer starting point, big run to the first turn.

SALUTER may not be at his very top but I think he is slowly getting back to it and the 1350m suits now. Has a clear class edge on these, not worried about the weight after the 2kg claim, it’s all about the gate, if he can slot in with cover I think he will win, if he gets posted wide it is a hard task. Hoping with early speed they split up a bit and Fancourt pushes her way in.

TOTAL AUTHORITY will be ridden positive and I think she can run a race. Will look the winner, the last 100m will be the question with her.

ABADDON is a bloody good horse at his best. Loomed at Sunny Coast after a long layoff but knocked up bad late. He may need one more run but at his best would probably run over them. HI SON may want further but going good enough to run well again.

Many more chances but that’s where I sit with them.

On Top:  1-SALUTER  $11

Race 6:

I like this race, can put a line through half of them but barriers make this more than interesting.

SECRET SAGA is a bit of a ‘boom’ horse in QLD and she is a very good filly. Although she won well last time I think a few have expected a little more from her this prep. She will start fav and deservedly so, however gate 13 is far from ideal, what they have in their favour is she can lead or sit off pace, they just need luck getting in if they take a sit. My read on it is they will go forward.

I like what I see in RIAPINKS and the $10 early on Ladbrokes was inviting. The win two runs back was exceptional (even though in far easier grade). From there went to Flemington over the carnival and ran 5th in a G3 behind some really nice horses. Can’t believe that early price, hoping they run here as she is a dual acceptor.

*I think the race is between the two above, however for those looking to go wider in bets MADOTTI, and TYPING may be next best while BANDA SPICE is racing really well and although not that well suited under the conditions may be value in first 4’s and not sure if it’s come a bit soon for SUITE  MOVER but will be a nice horse.

On Top:  10-RIAPINKA  $10

Hardest To Beat:  1-SECRET SAGA.  2-MADOTTI

Race 7:

Bit of speed here, Does CHARGE ACCOUNT hand up and let DIDNTCOSTALOT take it up? I’d say yes but may make it work a little to get across. TOP TONE and TEMPLE OF BOOM also have the good gates and will look to settle in the first 2-3 pairs.

FONTELINA looks to be well placed in a race like this and the 58kg is fair enough given his record. The fresh run in Sydney behind Dothraki was really solid and the run in Flemington was a pass mark and you just have to put a line through it as it was the day the track was biased and he was no hope. Only goes up 1.5kg on that run and this is much easier assignment.

TEMPLE OF BOOM gets a lovely run and I wouldn’t be surprised if Gollan had him wound right up for this.

Here are some quick positives for other main chances. ARCHITECT drops (3.5kg and 4.5kg) on his last two runs, going pretty good. DIDNTCOSTALOT has been re-born since entering the sunshine state, he should look the winner yet again at the 100m. MISS COVER GIRL is class, she is aimed for MM day so some improvement there but I really rate her, the gate is the query for her and how far she goes back?

If I had to give you one for wide trifecta’s at a price it would be GUNDY SPIRIT who ran well last start, likes the firm going and did run 3rd in the Prime Ministers cup in april.

On Top:  2-FONTELINA

Other winning hopes- 1,3,5,4

Race 8:

Really good race to finish off the Quaddie.

Big fan of SHEISWHATSHEIS, the two runs back have been exactly what you expect of her- solid and tries her heart out, you’d love to own her. I reckon she will be cherry ripe after this run but is still the horse they have to beat getting out to the 1615m. In just her first prep she had four runs and finished with a Listed placing behind Bohemian Lily.

COMACINA is going really well and big price on Ladbrokes $9.50 (at time of typing), I liked the horse for a long time and he was frustrating but is now far more consistent (although only won 1 of last 13). Hoof on the till and from the good gate he probably lands 5-6th the fence and will be very strong late.

BENTLES is stablemate of SHEISWHATSHEIS and should stalk her the whole way. Good win when resuming and has to be respected. Yet another of the Gollan camp is LORD COCONUTS and I am being forgiving of the run last week where not much right. Think this may be a touch harder but he should get a decent run and don’t right him off.

SEA RED and GLORIOUS RED both nice mares but have awkward gates and will need some luck to be winning here.

*Not a lot between Comacina and Sheiswhatsheis.

On Top:  10-SHEISWHATSHEIS

Next Best:  1-COMACINA,  9-LORD COCONUTS, 3-BENTLES
