The holiday season has arrived! This time of year brings memories of all things fun and festive such as decorating, opening presents, and baking cookies. It is a joyous time of year when family and friends get together to celebrate.

Starfall Gingerbread .99

Starfall Snowman is an early learning app for creativity, early math skills and fun. Children love making a gingerbread girl or boy while they learn 2D and 3D shapes and read vocabulary. Activities include creating a tray of gingerbread cookies, then choosing a favorite cookie to run through a maze following shapes or shape patterns. Early learners enjoy running the maze again and again. This app is a great winter-themed app for children between the ages of 2 and 5.

Dr. Seuss Camera – The Grinch Edition $.99

This is a fun app for the holidays that the whole family can enjoy together. The purpose of the app is to create e-cards using characters and items from Dr. Seuss’ the Grinch. You can customize the cards by placing choosing your own background, adding your own photos, adding decorations and then saving the image to your camera roll or emailing the e-card to friends or family members.

Cookie Doodle $.99

Cookie Doodle is an app that is perfect for working on comprehension of step by step instructions. The app allows for your child to completely customize a cookie. You get to choose the type of dough, roll it out, choose a cookie cutter or make your own shape of cookie. Next, you bake the cookie in the “oven” and then pick from a wide array of icing/sprinkle choices for decoration. Finally the cookie is virtually eaten, or you can place in the cookie jar to come back to your cookie masterpiece.

Toca Hair Salon – Christmas Gift FREE

Toca Hair Salon – Christmas Gift is an entertaining game app for preschoolers up to tweens. In this self-directed play activity children can choose to cut, color, comb or style Santa Claus’ beard and hair. They can also trim and decorate a Christmas tree.
