It’s been such a busy summer that we nearly missed our own birthday!  About 6 years ago (well 7/12/09 to be exact) we started writing beer reviews on Twitter, and we haven’t looked back since.

Over the years we’ve expanded on multiple platforms, but our mission remains the same: we share the best of beer culture and write snob-free, straightforward reviews while trying to keep a Noob’s open-mind and respect that taste is truly subjective.  We think what makes craft beer great is that it’s constantly evolving, and even after 5000+ tweets and 1000+ reviews/Untappd checkins there are always new beers to discover and share with friends.

Here’s how we celebrated brewnoob.com’s birthday just a couple years back circa 2013:

Four years ago I decided to start sharing my reviews of beer in 140 characters (or less).  I never planned to be a beer blogger, but I thought Twitter might be a good outlet to share my thoughts about craft beer.  Since then the BrewNoob has expanded onto Tumblr, Foursquare, Pinterest, even Instagram, and now my beer reviews take place mostly on Untappd. But even as social media continues to evolve, I’ve tried to keep the Twitter account updated regularly, with almost 3000 tweets and counting…

and here’s how we marked the occasion circa 2011:

Two years ago I started an account on Twitter called “BrewTest” to share 140-character beer reviews, in part because followers of my personal account seemed bored with my beer geekery.  A little later I started this Tumblr blog to share longer reviews and thoughts about beer.

Today @BrewNoob continues to share beer reviews on Twitter, but importantly also shares ideas about beer culture more broadly.  Needless to say we’ll be hitting up the local pub tonight and raise a toast to our first 2 years, and for what’s to come in the years ahead.

Cheers to all of our loyal readers and newcomers to the blog alike on our “birthday”!  And as always, please follow @BrewNoob on Twitter for the latest beer news and reviews on the social network where it all started!
